Dr. wants to try Clomid

Hi Ladies,

To make a long story short, I was on Lupron after having surgery for endo.  My AF did not return on it's own, so I was put on Premarin, and 10 days later I got AF.  It is now count day 34, and no AF again.  I have taken 2 tests, and both BFN.  My doctor wants to put me on Clomid.  What exactly will this do?  Will it help me regulate my cycle, will it help me ovulate? I am trying to conceive and wondered how this all works.  Any advice from all the Clomid users would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Much :)

On what day of your cycle with clomid did you start using opk's?
I will be put on aygestin to get my AF going before I can start the clomid. But I'm excited, it's a step in the right direction I'm hoping :)

You take clomid on certain days of your cycle while you are bleeding or shortly after u started bleeding, I take my opk's between 10am-2pm cause I have learned my surge is detected at those hours, my dr also said ur LH surge usually happens early am so if you take it before noon u may miss it.....and you should get a blood progesterone test at cd 21 to make sure u ovulated

One more question... should the doc. give you a blood pregnancy test before starting clomid? I just took a HPT and it was negative.  I'm noticing some signs here of pregnancy, and want them to be sure.... but I'm wondering if I am psyching myself out thinking I have all these signs.

OK sounds good.  Tomorrow the nurse is supposed to call me and let me know what they want to put me on.  I hope that they put me on this because I have already been on a few things, and thought I got AF and still haven't had one since. It's so confusing!

After my first cycle I did the OPK's for about 2 weeks.  I always did it at 7:00 in the morning, I didn't know that you should do them in the afternoon. I had heard different things.

It would be nice to know and confirm with the blood work to tell if I am ovulating or not.
Thanks for the advice.

Usually they will have you come in for blood work at a certain point of your cycle.  They will be able to tell by your hormones if you ovulated or not.  OPK's are usually not a for sure bet because you can actually miss it being positive within a day's time. (say it could be positive in the AM and not in the PM but you tested in the PM)

How does she monitor me? Will she have me come in and get blood work done, do you take ovulation predictor kits, how will you for sure know that you are ovulating?
