Ectopic Pregnancy ?

Hey girls! hope everyone is doing ok.. things appear to be going well since getting my BFP, but of course have a ton of thoughts racing through my head!   one of them is the scare of what if i had an ectopic pregnancy.. i'm on heparin and asprin.. and usually my RE's office schedules their fetal ultrasounds at 6wk2 days. but they (the nurses) said that since we weren't 100% sure of the date of conception, they were going to schedule it later - at almost 8 weeks!.. which i thought, ok i'll just have to be patient.. but then began thinking if i had an ectopic while on heparin, most likely bad things would happen before 8 weeks! I do have known cysts on both ovaries.. so occasional cystlike pain, but no spotting or anything else.. but the reason i think i thought about this in the first place is that this is the first pregnancy that i haven't had any cramping (which i think is good, but everything crosses my mind!).. for those of you that have had ectopics.. what were your symptoms and when did they start?
do yall think i should make the dr's office sono me a week earlier just to be safe? we only did two betas early on and they quadrupled in 48 hours, so we never repeated them.. Thanks so much for any and all opinions/thoughts! : )

Thanks! : )  yea i have always had the achey feeling in my ovary when pregnant too.. but since this was the first time i didnt' have any uterine cramping (also first time on blood thinners so it might just be a good sign!) it made me think a little bit more about the ache.. i'm having a lot of symptoms and SOO thankful for them all! super sore bbs, fatigue, urinating constantly, bloated, and the last day or two nausea : )   and loving it! : ) i guess i'll just have to be patient and wait... and hopefully everything will be good for our ultrasound and hopefully beyond for months and months till we FINALLY have a little one in our arms! : ) thanks girls!

I also wanted to let you know... each time I have gotten BFP.. I have always had a dull ache on my side (near ovary) due to corpus luteum... so incase you were feeling something like that, I didn't want you too worry..

Waiting is so hard.. but try to enjoy...

are you having symptoms?? If so, try to focus on those.. that is what I do and it often makes me feel better.

Thanks girls!  i'm definitely trying to not be paranoid, or worry but easier said than done! I have just been taking it easy!   I only had two betas and the numbers quadrupled, so they didn't repeat them.. i actually called today and asked if we could just move the ultrasound up one week (i'd be 6 weeks 3 days) just to make sure there is an intrauterine pregnancy, and they said no, even on patients with heparin they wait till 7.5 weeks to sono! seems kinda weird to me that they havne't had a bad outcome from waiting that long and having patients on heparin! so i guess i'll just wait.. i've had the ache from a cyst for over a month, its the same it has been, maybe even a little better.. Thanks yall!

Did you do a third beta?  Perhaps you can check if your hcg is rising as it should.  With ectopic pregnancies hcg typically is slow to rise.

Please stay less paranoid! I know how it is, I remember myself....Of course, I wouldn't want to wait until 8 weeks but honestly, most of the times they can't see heartbeat before 8 weeks, that's why they want to see you then! How long do you have to wait till your appt?

My ectopic was weird. My HCG was rising normally, then it wouldn't, then it would shoot back up again. Right around 6 weeks i started having minor minor pain in my left side but sometimes (only occassionally) it would move sides. Then I started spotting and went to the doctor. I went to the hospital on a friday and my old OB's office wanted me to wait till monday. If i would have waited til then i would have most likely lost my tube. But when you have an ectopic you typically know it.

When I had my ectopic pregnancy, I had constant pain/aching in my lower in my lower back on my left side that NEVER went away...... I also get overy pain and this ache was even lower.  I hope this helps, good luck with your pregnancy and hoping you a happy and healthy nine months.

My right tube just got removed due to ectopic pregnancy 2 weeks ago, and this is my second IVF ectopic ones.  How's weird! People got ectopic one adviced to do IVF and I got ectopic ones on both IVF and just 3 months apart.
HCG level start quiet low as 47 on the first ivf and 37 on the second one.  Both increase double every 48 hrs, but start bleeding at 5 weeks, AF painful cramps on and off.  Found nothing in the uterus on 6 weeks (HCG>5000).
Bleeding is just not the good sign in early pregnancy.

i would not worry especially since stress is not good for the pregnancy.

like tanker chic said, normally you get odd pains, and  i read that they often happen in the shoulder and arm areas.

small pains in the belly, ovary and pelvic area are totally normal.  your uterus starts growing right away.

hang in there, you will see a nice strong heartbeat and have a great 9 months.  it seems like it goes by slow and then once you have the baby you are like wow that was fast and then the weeks fly by even faster.  i swear yesterday i was pregnant but my little one just turned 3 weeks on tuesday.

When I had my ectopic my only symptom was low and slow rising hcg and during the u/s there was nothing in the uterus.  I started the methotrexate treatments at 6wks. Still had no other symptoms at this time.  The shot did not work and at 8wks my tube ruptured.  I did not have any symptoms until my tub ruptured.  I even had a dr appt that morning and worked all day.  That night I couldn't sleep and had an odd radiating sensation that was in my chest area.  It was not painful, just an odd uncomfortable feeling.  Even tho my brain didn't know what was happening, my body did, because I started crying and told DH I needed to go to the hospital.

If there are increased risks involved, I would ask for an earlier u/s.

best of luck and congrats!!

I was told by a nurse recently that if you're having an ectopic you would have really bad stomach pains. So, if you're not experiencing any bad belly pain, then everything should be good :0)

I think if you would feel more comfortable knowing your baby is safe then they should allow that to happen.  You don't need to be stressing and if something as simple as an ultrasound can somewhat ease your anxiety then they would be willing to do it.  Are they still checking your HCG numbers?
