FSH levels that are good

Whats considered a good fsh level and why?Ive just been told mine is 8.1 and my consutant thinks thats a good level.can anyone explain why and what is a good number.Much appreciated thank you xx

Under 6 is excellent, 6-9 is good, 9-10 fair, 10-13 diminished reserve and 13+ very hard to stimulate. So your consultant is right, an 8 is a good number.  

Basically the lower the number, the better. The more FSH your body produces, the harder it's working to grow and release the follicles. Hope that makes sense.
