Failed IVF Check In...

Good Morning Girls -
I know there is a handful of us with recent failed IVFs this month.  Who are you and how are you feeling?  What's your current status?  What is your plan from here?  Anyone trying anything different or have advice- Please share.

Michelle (30) in NJ.  TTC for 2 1/2 years.  Recently second IVF failed with BFN on 4/20.  No AF until Monday morning.  We are ready for round 3!!  I start BCPs on 4/25 'till 5/6 and baseline tests on 5/11.  We did not have any frozen so we're starting from the beginning.

Babydust to all!!!

I am in the same boat as some on here, I have never posted before.  We have just been through ivf # 3 and that one failed too. 1st time at Ivf my eggs fertilised abnormally , 2nd time my eggs didn't fertilze at all, this time they did fertilise they were doing really well. Yesterday I went to the hospital for transfer when I was told my embryo's arrested, none to transfer. I am shattered , it was our last attempt .

I just read your comment, and my heart goes out to you. I actually got a positive report on 12/23/10 that my first IVF cycle was a success...only to find out today that the development stopped and I am now NOT pregnant. I had a wonderful Christmas, thinking I got the best present from God...and now I am devastated. I have had three miscarriages since 2008 from conceiving naturally. I turned to IVF for PGD...I still have one frozen, but am feeling so discouraged right now...I just got the news an hour ago. I am 37 and my husband is 40...this has been a very difficult journey...I am just sitting here searching the computer for any kind of encouragement, or to at least read of others who have been disappointed as well...it helps to know I am not alone. Best wishes to everyone...

Just found out our first IVF failed on 12/23/10.   We've had 2 misscarriages earlier this year in 2010 and now this failed invetro this month is very hard on us.  My husband is very supportive and we've decided to "just let go" of trying to be in baby mode and give it up to God. I'll be 42 in march and put my Pharma career on hold this year so will focus on getting a new job in 2011 and still remain very hopeful that God will give us our desires since we will try and conceive naturally.

Reading everyone else's post has helped me realize that the feelings I feel are normal and am truly wishing we all get our dreams soon.

I just got news that my first ivf failed.  I feel devastated but I am committed to three rounds.  Its just so heartbreaking when you have all the pregnancy symptoms from the progesterone supplements....next time I will not be so hopeful during the 2 ww.  This is a hard emotional learning curve!  Keep it up girls, we can get through this.

Thanks for the calming words Pumpkin08.  I had mixed feelings over the last few days when I began experiencing stronger cramps.  It felt like the onset of my periods and somehow I knew deep down it hadn't worked.  I just felt so tired and hopeless after all the trouble taken, its a pity to realize it ain't over until the baby is actually born..........

I come from a family where all the women got pregnant when they wished to be.  I am the only one with a fibroid history and now at this age desperate to experience pregnancy.  Its calming to realize there are many others in a similar situation and I empathize with their desolation.  I wish you loads of prayers and good luck Pumpkin08.  Hopefully things will turn out right.  Let us know :)

Warm wishes to everyone.

Sorry for your failed IVF, I will do my Beta test in 2 days but I have a feeling it will be negative. I wish you all the luck in your next attempt, I know 2 friends who had IVF and both got pregnant from the 3rd IVF transfer, I hope it will not take that long with you but just to say don't give up, if you have your husband's support then go for it, both my friends were also 40 when they got pregnant, I am 40 now also. So I wish you the best and have great fun in your vacation, stress is for sure something you want to eliminate when you are thinking of getting pregnant!
Babydust to all of us who needs it!

Hi everyone,
I just got news of my BFN less than an hour ago.  I am sitting in front of the PC not sure what to feel.  Its emptiness.  My DH was so sweet to want to console me, take half a day off from work (we live in the Middle East).

I dont know if I want to try again.  I will turn 40 next month and today is my husband's 45th birthday.  Not a nice way to celebrate.  Tomorrow we take a two week trip and hopefully this break will help me calm down.  At the moment my nerves are shot.  Loads of baby dust to everyone......carolyn

I REALLY understand all your sorrows. It is devastating when an IVF fails wether no implantation or even worse to miscarry. I have to start all over because I didn't produce enough eggs. That really sucks and I am feeling discouraged. I only have 1 attempt left. My insurance will only cover IVF 1 more time for the meds I still have to shell out $5,500 and right now my spouse is not working.

My prayers is with you all. I don't think a man will EVER understand the way we feel. Our bodies and our minds go through soooo much. While my embies were inside of me I talked to them I even encouraged them to stick to hang on but they didn't. They just dissolved and I felt so sad when my AF came. I felt so connected to my two little embies and now they are gone.

Rabirr----hang in there and maybe try counselling if the fathers are not supporting us it only makes the journey worse so take care of your spirit you need to feel connected to him you can't go through this alone. My hubby says he thinks I should just have faith and not go through IVF again because it takes too much out of me. I WANT to try again and I will. I just have to I can't give up. I feel desperate to keep trying.

May God give us strength physically and mentally.

Sorry ladies I have not been on here for awhile.
I just now saw that you both had BFNs. I'm so sorry. I hope you will not give up hope. I've heard too many stories of BFPs after several ivf attempts. I hope you are doing ok. I'll throw lots of baby dust your way!!

IVF Fails Suck... say it with me girls!!!  I can relate to many of your stories actually almost exactly.  I had 2 failed IVF's with none left to freeze.  NO KNOWN medical reason why there's a problem.  And I'm on my 3rd try this time with a new clinic.  7 out of 7 eggs fertilized, tranfered 3 and froze 4.  I'm in the aweful 2WW right now with 6 days left to test.  A few gals in similar situations post on another thread regularly and we all can't stand the emotional rollercoaster.

xo and good luck to all....

Hello. My name is Jess, I live in New Hampshire and I am 27 yrs old.  I just got my bfn yesterday (this was our first IVF cycle) but have had some spotting and bleeding since this past Friday.  Dh told me we are all done trying, and this devistates me.  We have been trying for 3 1/2 years and have lost 4 pregnancies during that time.  I can't help but feel very angry towards him because he has taken away my dream of having a full family, right now it feels like a piece is missing- and that piece is a baby.  At this time I am not sure how to handle my feelings toward him, I'm not sure I will ever get over losing my hopes and dreams.  I will just have to find a way to get through this.

To all the rest of you who have had failed IVF's, I hope your dreams of having a child will come true- I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

hi,

am in the same boat as you.  My first IVF cycle just failed. However, i have 7 frozen embies so will go back for first FET cycle in may or if that wont work out right with my work schedule then would go for it in June.

The big difference i am goign to make this cycle is to transfer more embryos.  Last time i only did 2 and with the failed results i would rather transfer abt 4 in round 2.  If it results in twisn even better.

The BFN was quite hard to deal with.  Could get thru it with DH's help.

Looking fwd to hearing others who are going thru the same.
