Fibroid tumors

Hi, i am 36 yrs old and obese have been trying to conceive for the past 5 years. I have been with a fertility dr for the last 2 yrs. I have 3 fibroid tumors but the dr assured me they are not in the way and I had a laparoscopy last year and everything was open and clear. I have had like 19 iui's with no success. I do ovulate with clomid and most of the time on my own. Husband is fine. Should I consider having the fibroids removed, will they increase my chances of getting pregnant even when the dr said they shouldn't be a problem?

I have several fibroids, maybe 10 of them.  They makes my uterus enlarge as 9cm instead of 6.  About 4-5 of them size from 4-6cm, the rest is all different small size up to 3cm.
It sounds scary, isn't it?  However, just one tore to the uterus but very little.  My RE never wants me to have a surgery because he said it's a serious surgery to open me up and it could result to a lot of scarr tissue, damage my uterus since my linning is beutifull.  After the surgery the blood inside from sugery may stick all the organs together and may be worse than before, and you may need more surgery to fix it up.  I went to many other doctors to get second opinions and many of them wanted me to have surgery, but somehow, I can tell they just want to have a surgery to collect my money when I dicuss further on the scar tissue.  They just tell me the good side is remove them but never mention about the other side effect.  However, each one has different case and depend on the fibroid location.  I just let you know my experience.
I will have the ultrasound tomorrow to detect the baby heart beat at 7w2d, and hope this is the best gift for the chirstmas.
I wish you the best.

I would say try to get second opinion. Fibroid removal is not a light surgery. I do not mean to scare you but i had that done (myomectomy) right after i delivered my daughter (conceived so wonderfully naturally) and that myomectomy resulted in my secondary infertility. The doctor was aggressive, removing the fibroid and the endometrium with it. This is the inner layer of the uterus. Now i hardly get a period, there is no endometrium left, only small patches. My uterus cannot carry another baby because the embryo cannot find a spot to implant.
Do not take any surgery lightly. Always ask about what will be done, what are the possible side effects and look them up on the internet. If i knew there was a possible risk of Ahermans (scarrign in teh uterus) i would have fled out the door of his clinic before i would have this surgery. Now i am a minority, but it can happen.
A heat source like laser should not be used. it usually causes the scarring.

I try to make women aware of this. Soemthing i wished i knew before my  surgery.
