Frozen Embryos...Anyone?

Hello,
Has anyone that has undergone IVF and resulted in extra embryos that have been frozen for later use, actually used the frozen embryos?  Has anyone that has used the frozen embryos resulted in a pregnancy that has lasted to childbirth?

Thank you all for your posts!  I think I will use the frozen embies.  I was so devastated when I found out from the nurse that my HcG levels are dropping.  I know it was such a short time but i felt like I lost a part of me.  I dont think I can go through the heartache again,  you know?
Just one last question, does accupuncture really work?

Congratulations to those of you who are preggy and SSBD to those of you who are waiting to hear!!  My prayers are with you!! :)

FET is a lot, a lot easier!! Definately use those embies if you have them before you do another fresh cycle. It is so much easier on your body and a lot less expensive. I couldn't believe the difference between the fresh and FET cycle all around, physical and psychological. We did a FET in November, but ended in m/c in December (have a 23 month old from a fresh cycle), and are currently waiting to do another after my hysteroscopy, since we have 3 frozen. I have been doing a lot of research on the FET and they really are successful. Ck your clinic and they should really tell you their success rate on fresh and frozen. I have two great friends whose fresh didn't work but frozen did. They can have a harder time defrosting, but you just never know what you will end up with! It really does depend on how your clinic goes through that "defrosting" process.Good luck!

I had one fresh embryo transfer and the very next month had FET, ended in chemical pregnancy. Then took a break for 2 months, did accupuncture and transfered 2 frozen. Now pregnant 36wks with twins. All is going well. In fact, if I don't deliver on my own then will be induced on March 7. There are less meds involved with FET so the body does not go thru so much stress. If you have frozen embies, I think you should have them transfered. I still have 3 frozen. Before going thru IVF I did a lot of research online. It seems that FET have similar success rates as with fresh cycles. FETs are less expencive as well. The quality of the frozen embryoes depends on the initial quality at retrieval. I had 22 eggs retreived, 13 fertilized, 8 grew to blasts, so now left with 3 frozen. good luck, sorry about your dropping numbers.

I am sorry to hear that your numbers are dropping. I would try frozen cycle first. It is a lor less money and less stress. I also did acupuncture. Another thing that helped me is positive thinking.
Just before my FET I went through hysterescopy to remove uterine polyp. My doctor also discovered that I had uterine septum. We waited for few weeks to heal and did FET.

Good luck.

Hi!  Thank you so much for your post.  Can i ask you a question?  Did they do anything special to the frozen embryo that is different than what they did for your IVF attempts?  I just had IVF done and my HcG level is dropping so the nurse said I am going to miscarry. :(   I was just wondering if I should do another full round of IVF or use the frozen embryos from the last IVF round.  I am worried that the frozen embryos wont be as good as the freshly retrieved ones?

I have gone through 3 IVFs in 3 years and all failed. I had some embryos left over from my last IVF and we did FET in October. Now I am 18 weeks pregnant. FET(frozen embryo transfer) worked for me. hope this helps. Good luck. SSBD.

Read a post from someone else that was unsuccessful until IVF, had 6 embies frozen for future use and was successful on 2nd IVF.  Went straight to IVF second time and bypassed all other methods.
