Has anyone gotten pregnant with Fiberoids/Polyps?

I am getting ready to start my 2nd IVF in the next month or so (Probably mid March)  after my first ended in a m/c at 6 weeks.  The Dr believes it was abnormal although unsure.
I previously had a polyp removed in Sept 2009.  The RE requested that I have another HSG test done which I will due on Tuesday Feb 9.  This is the test the shoots the dye thru the tubes but also tests for uterine abnormalities so it can detect if the polyp grew back.  He claims that polyps can cause M/C
Any Opinions???

Melissa & Babywanted,

Thanks for your responses.  I DO NOT have fibroids.  I had a uterine Polyp which was removed in Sept.  I just had a M/C in dec & Dr thinks we should do another HSG to make sure it didn't grow back.
Dr is optimistic for me getting pregnant again since I did on first IVF...I guess I accomplished half the battle.  I just want to get started again

Babywanted Congrats on your pregnancy...praying for a happy 9 months for you.

I start TTC at 36 and I find out I have about 10 fibroids and about 4-5 of them from 4-6cm which make my uterus is huge.  However, they are not distorting to the uterus (just one biggest one distorts a little bit).  Many doctors asked me to remove them.  After 2 years of 6 failed IUIs, and 1 failed IVF, I move to my new RE and he's very confident about their location and never want me to do a surgery because of my age, and they may damage my uterus more than help me.  I got BFP on his first IVF but MC (maybe it ectopic because we don't see anything in the uterus at 6weeks) but it came out itself.  I got BFP again and ectopic and remove the right tube.  Then another BFN, now I'm just 13 weeks pregnant.  So discuss with your RE and look for second opion as well because many of them will never tell us the CONS.  You'll get pregnant for sure since you got one. Good luck for your comming cycle.

HI there,

when i did my hsg last year, the re told me i had an abnormal uterus and that may cause m/c . he kept asking me if i had m/c in the past...anyhow, after doing a saline sono, he discovered i had a fibroid in my uterus but it was sticking out....they told me back then it's not a worry bec it's small...
did ur re tell u how big the fibroid is and where it's located? as for the polyps, i'm not so sure...i know they can remove them. i think if the fibroids are distorting the uterus and are very big then it's a concern. he should be able to tell u thru the hsg or a 3day u/s.

let's hope all shows well on the 9th.

Melissa
