Aetna is my insurance but it has extra infertility benefits.
I am not sure about that. My insurance covered some of the medication for me but that was about it. For the most part, our expenses were out of pocket.
I paid for the donor's medication, which was the most expensive, but everything that she had to do was done within that month. I forgot to mention also that we also started taking birth control at the same time late December so that our bodies/cycles could be in sync. The nervousness for us came after the transfer because we had to wait over a week to know if it was a success.
I had to take injections in my abdomen for a couple of weeks prior to the transfer. The week of the transfer I started my progesterone shots in my butt and I just stopped taking them about two weeks. I must admit they are something serious. But knowing it was for a worthy cause is what kept me going.
Hello I was just wandering which insurance covers ivf because I have Aetna and they'll cover me to get a laparoscopy the most that's about it.
OH MY!! That is a very quick process!! So within a month or two the transfer was complete!! That has me very excited!! I am so ready to get through the medication part. I have been watching youtube's day in and day out!! I am so nervous! How'd the medication part go?
It wasn't a very long pocess for me at all. My husband and I used an egg donor and selected a donor from the list about six months earlier. Once I told my doctor around mid December that we were ready, it was off to the races from that point. My hubby and I went in for the initial consult on 12/26 and he also gave a sperm sample for testing. January 1 was the kickoff for the official process, to include me and the donor starting our meds. The egg retrieval occurred on either 1/21 or 1/22 (I can't remember), and we arrived at the office on 1/27 for the transfer.
