IVF and forgotten tampon

I had 2 x 5day blasts transferred on monday (26th May), it was a fairly difficult and painful procedure and my doc said it took him a while to get past an obstruction at my cervix. I had had a vag discharge for a few weeks before hand and just put it down to the drugs I was taking. however this morning I felt a lump and on investigation found out that it was a tampon, I'm not sure how long it has been there and am wondering if this was the obstruction and why this was nt picked up on ultrasound at time of transfer. Does anyone know if this will have any effect on the outcome of my IVF

I think Helen is right, the tampon may not have shown up, and I don't think it will affect the IVF.  You may want to call doc about it though.

u/s during transfer examines your uterus and that's where the embryos were guided by your dr.  Tampon will not affect that area at all.
Good luck to you!
