I'm Confused. How do doctors follow up with Clomid?

I just finished up C# 1 of clomid thurs. Sept 18th.  I am now on cd 15 without a pos. OPT.  I have read that some doctors follow up clomid with blood tests or ultrasounds.  My doctors didn't tell me to do anything but BD every other day and check for ovulation with OPK.  So is that normal?

If my cycle is very irregular when should I HPT?
I feel like my doctors office didn't really prepare me well for this process and after going through a round of provera and then clomid I certainly don't want to miss something! :o)

I was on clomid for 7 months and I rarely say my doctor during that time. I tested OPKs starting day 10 or 11 and every month it was positive on day 15 or 16. If you get to day 17 without a pos OPK I would schedule an ultrasound to make sure you have follicles being produced. They can always give you a trigger shot like Ovidrel to make you ovulate within 36 hours. Good luck = )

I am monitored by u/s to check follies and to watch for cysts. The 1st round I did, they also did a cd21 progesterone. But have not done b/w since. Once o is confirmed and hpt can be done 12-14 days after.

when I did clomid I was still seeing my ob/gyn. they didn't really tell me anything about it, and didn't do any monitoring. i was to start opk's around day 10 or 11, and bd every other day. then i'd call when I got my period. I was not impressed. after a few months of this we moved on to our RE only to find out I had a giant cyst that took 3 months to go away. I was fairly regular at 28-29 days, so I started testing on day 10, and was usually + by CD15.
