I forgot to mention I have slight PCOS so that may be the reason why my RE is concerned. Thank you so much.
7 to 15 should not be a big deal at all. There are even theories that it is easier for a woman to conceive if she is about ten pounds over modern 'skinny' ideal weights.
I'm 7-15lbs over my ideal weight....it's not much but my re makes such a big deal. my first Ivf consultation is next week. I'm a bit nervous.
A friend of mine who is a "big girl" did IVF, she had PCOS and needed the help. They told her that her chances were reduced but they went with her. If you are seriously over the normal weight, simply for your health and the likelihood of carrying safely you need to lose, but if you are only somewhat overweight they should not dis you for it.
I'm not a 100% sure, but I've heard RE's prefer you are not under or over weight for your height. I would just check with your RE if that's a problem. Best of luck to you w/ IVF!
