Lining thin--yet doctor is hopeful???

Hello,
I am new to this discussion board, but have been reading it for a long time.  Two months ago, I had two nice size follicles, but nothing happened except I got follicle cysts--yeah :(
After CD 12 U/S, I have one "oblong" follicle and one good one (they are both good sizes, I just can't remember what they are), but my lining was only 2 mm.  Doctor told me to wait until CD 14 to administer Ovidrel...will the lining grow that much?
Also, does Lexitrole (that is what I have been taking on CD 3-10) also negatively affect lining like its harsher component Clomid.
He seemed very hopeful?!?
Thanks in advance for any input.  I need to give the Ovidrel tomorrow and am just nervous as I will not have another U/S until then--so scared things won't be ready!

Thanks for your response.  Actually, with Letrozole last time, I had a 7 mm lining...and yet, still it did not work, so who knows.  I will be sure to talk to the dr. regarding estrogen for next time IF it doesn't work this time.
Funny how much we all know about this kind of language and vocabulary.  I would have never understood this 2 years ago!
Thanks again!

By the way, if it is this month...I have heard of women getting pregnant with thin linings before, so hopefully yours continue to thicken at last a few mm's before ovulation takes place!

Welcome to the forum! A 2 mm lining on CD12 is pretty thin...I believe they like to see an 8 or above. Sometimes, you can take a estrogen supplement in the first part of your cycle to help build the lining.

So was the 2 mm lining two months ago when you were on clomid? If so, you might not have the same issue this month, since clomid is know for thinning the lining in some women, while Letrozole/Femara does not.

If the 2 mm lining was this month, on the other hand, I would question your doctor about this and maybe ask for an estrogen supplement next cycle (I think it's too late this month).

Best of luck with everything!
