Long luteal Phase

I am confused as to why some drs think that long luteal phases are not a problem wrt fertility and some do...even on this forum, one dr said they are NOT a problem and another said they believed that long luteal phases DO adversely affect fertility, so which one is it?  My luteal phase according to fertilityfriend.com was 19 days last mth -overall my cycle was 2 days longer than usual  -at 33 days).  Is there a problem wth my cycle? I am 24 yrs old  ( according to the software I ovulated on day 14).

This discussion is related to long luteal phase.

doctors do not comment in this forum.  you can try the GYN doctor forum.  but your best bet would be talk to your GYN.

I agree with Leighanne that ovulating on cd14 is perfectly normal & an 18-day lp sounds okay, too.  I haven't heard that having a longer lp is a problem, but maybe someone else will have some better info for you.  Good luck ! :)

ovulating on day 14 seems very average.  if you are TTC, you just need to use ovulation tests and then BD round that time.  as long as the doctor says your long luteral phase is changing your progesterone, which can make TTC hard and you need to use prog supplements.
