You mentioned that you are taking a lovenox injections.  My doc said something about that...  but said he would clarify later.

Do you have to take it through the duration of the pregnancy??

Did you start it the moment you found out you were preggo??

I am assuming you give them to yourself.....

I guess my insurance would cover that,  I sure hope so.  I am sure they would.

Anyway, I would appreciate any guidance, hearing that news has just scared me....

Hello, I am assuming that I will take the injections throughout the duration of the pregnancy. I start seeing an OB/GYN next week and I am sure she will determine if I continue to use the medications until delivery or if I stop sometime close to delivery.

I started taking the injections the same day I found out I was pregnant. I don't know if my RE's office assumed I knew I would be taking injections because once I got to the pharmacy and saw the syringes I called back to the RE's office to makesure I had the correct order. I thought I would be taking a pill but I think those blood-thinners are a higher dose and cross over the placenta.

I give myself the injections twice a day in the abdomen region. I have finally figured out to inject without much pain. I just stay bruised under my belly-button area. But otherwise, it is not unbearable. But whatever I need to do to maintain the pregnancy-I just do it.

My insurance covers the prescription-$50.00 for a 14 day supply. For some reason, I can only get 14 days vs. 30 days with other prescriptions. But resourceful me called the pharmacy company and they are going to give me permission to get a 30 day supply for the $50.00-every little bit helps. The kicker of the prescription is that according  to the figure on the label-retail value for the prescription is over a $1000.00. I may fuss about my insurance plan but thank goodness I have it, because I would be "up a creek" without it.

I hope everything goes well. Good luck!

Thank you so much.  I had to read your post to DH because it was just so perfect for what I needed to hear.  You have no idea how much that meant to me at this moment.

I honestly do not know what I would do without this forum. You ladies are all in my prayers....

remember--> THE SECRET. everything is going to be perfectly fine!!!!!! Your insurance should cover lovenox injections. that med is used all the time for people who have had surgery to prevent blood clots. It is a very common med and I bet most insurance companys will cover.
