New Ovulation Tracker

Hello Everyone,

We're pleased to announce the Ovulation Tracker, the first in a series of Personal Health Applications (PHAs) geared towards helping our members keep track of their daily symptoms, treatments, and events. After announcing the Ovulation Calculator a few months ago, many of you said that you needed something more advanced to personalize the results. We plan on adding more functionality to the Ovulation Tracker over the next few weeks and would love to get your suggestions and feedback. Please post your comments in the MedHelp Suggestions community (accessible via My Shortcuts).

You can access the Ovulation Tracker by clicking on the "Trackers" link at the top of the community, or on the "Trackers" tab on My MedHelp. We've also added a couple new Health Pages for women who are new to tracking. Please feel free to edit the Health Pages and share your knowledge and experiences with others.

If you would like your ovulation/fertility data imported from another site, please send an email to import@medhelp.org

Best,
MedHelp

Click on the day you'd like to enter data for. Under the chart section (where you have menses), you should see an option that says "More chart". Click on that and you should see more values you can choose to enter. If you haven't entered BBT, then you should be able to find BBT there.

We've updated the ovulation calendar to show CD1 as the first day of light, medium, or heavy flow. Thanks for the suggestion!

The tracker currently only allows you to track the data you need in order to pinpoint ovulation. So it works great if you're an expert charter, which it sounds like you are. And it's great for novices to ask for advice from others who have been charting for a while.

We also recognize that it helps to see a line on the chart that indicates ovulation. We'll be adding the ability to pinpoint when ovulation occurred in the next few days. Look for an announcement early next week. You should also see your chart updated at that time.

Again, if anyone wants their data imported, send an email to import @ medhelp.org. Thanks!

The tracker isn't identifying my ovulation date at all when it is quite clear. WHy is that?

You're absolutely right. This will be fixed by next week and CD1 will start on your first day of light, medium, or heavy flow. Thanks!

This tracker is getting better...and am glad to know you are working towards further improving it.
I have another suggestion....I actually spot before my periods start. And the usualy way to count CD1 is a heavy flow...however, if i have 2 days of spotting marked ahead of my heavy flow start date...the tracker takes the spotting start day as CD1 instead the day of the flow.
Hope u will be able to rectify that. Feel free to send me a message, if you do not understand my message. Also u r most welcome to check my last chart.

We've also added a few other features to the tracker.

-Notes: If your tracker is set to public or friends only, other members can leave you a "note" specifically for your tracker. Notes that can be left for the ovulation tracker include a new Baby Dust note and Congratulations.

-Journals: You can keep a diary related specifically to your tracker. You can also post pictures (e.g. HPT) if you so desire. When you write the journal, be sure to check the privacy setting. You'll probably want to make sure that notes you keep for yourself are set to private, but if you want to share something with the MedHelp community, you can set the privacy to public.

-Other Members using this Tracker: You can also browse public trackers by clicking on "View Tracker". Maybe you'll learn something about charting or offer advice to someone else on their chart. You can also leave them a note while you're at it. Everyone can use a little Baby Dust.

Enjoy the new features.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

We recently added a few more items to the tracker, including IUI (under Treatments), Ferning Tests (under Events) and Monitors (under Events). Hope that helps everyone out a bit.

Can you help us out a bit and let us know how important you think new features are? Here are the ones we're considering:

-Adding a time for when BBT was taken
-Moving the chart so it starts on CD1
-Adding various disturbances of BBT to symptoms or adding a checkbox that indicates that BBT may not be correct because of lack of sleep, a different time taking BBT, drinking, etc.
-Adding methods to estimate the day of ovulation
-Adding fertile days based on cervical mucous

Any feedback would be great as we look forward to the next round of enhancements.

aweeonetolove: you're right in that there isn't a lot of information on how to interpret your charts. If you'd like to write something up to help out the newbies, you can create a health page to do so. Other women can also contribute their own knowledge.

And don't forget, if anyone wants to have their data imported from another site, please send an email to import @ medhelp.org.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

I really like the tracker.  Thank you for adding to the site.  A lot of the women here are doing IUI and it should be added to the tracker where "treatments" are.  Thanks again for helping us ladies keep track.

Can you tell us what part is broken for you? Are you logged in when you try to access the tracker? How are you trying to access it? Are you going to "My MedHelp" and then the "Tracker" tab?

If you can see the tracker, then perhaps the problem is in editing the tracker? To edit the tracker, all you have to do is click on the chart. If that's not working, please let us know what browser version you're using (IE 6.0, IE 7.0, Firefox, Safari) and what operating system (Windows, Mac).

Sorry about the inconvenience.

Oh this tracker is good. I do BBT...it's similar to that...and it draws lines on its own...neat!! Just need to include option of IUI (unless u want us to use the intercourse event for that). Also if you are looking at improvement...when the cycle day 1 is identified, the screen should be advised to move that to the left end rather than the chart sticking to the right end with left empty.
But overall, i like it

In addition to symptoms there needs to be a slot for disturbances (bad sleep, drinking, illness, etc).  Also, the chart does not allow us to track our cervical position.  Furthermore, the tracking is only useful to those of us who already understand how to chart and interpret our charts.  Little information is provided to teach people new to charting the details of charting and interpreting said charts. In the end, learning how to interpret charts correctly is the biggest reason for charting.
