No Gestational Sac

I am 5 wk pregnant tomorrow (I know the exact timing b/c I did IVF).  Had positive HCG blood tests.  Today the doc did an u/s to detect the fetal sac but didn't think he saw anything (he wasn't sure).  I saw tons of posts about empty sacs but none about no sac.  Do you think I've miscarried or it was just too early to see the sac?  As I've said the dating is not off since I know I had ET on 3/19 and u/s today 4/8.

Sometimes it is hard for docs to find your gestational sac because it is too early. It took my doctor a good few minutes before he found the sac at 5 weeks.. On Friday, they should be able to see the sac and your HCG level should rise....
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for all your replies.  I have a repeat u/s 4/11 (Friday) and will get results from my HCG test tomorrow to see if the numbers are on the rise or decline.  To answer anya1984's question, I am counting the 5 weeks from the first day of my last period.  I didn't really have a normal last period since I was going thru IVF and they put me on birth control pills just before the egg retrieval.  Therefore, in IVF the first day of your last period is considered to be exactly 2 weeks prior to embryo transfer (3/19 for me) and therefore, first day of LMP is 3/5.

Give it another week or two and check back.  My doc wouldn't due u/s before 7 weeks as it can just be tough to see at that point.  I've heard many stories of no baby/sac/etc. at 5-6 weeks and 2/3 weeks later everything was fine.  Hang in there ladies.

Yes, I believe it could be too early. Actually, I went to my u/c at my 5 weeks, and doc did see the sac , but didn't see anything in it because he says its too early, so I have another u/c in a week..
Are you counting your 5 weeks from the first day of your last period?

It might be too early to see a sac.
When are you scheduled to do a second U/S?
keep us posted and good luck
