Possible ectopic pregnancy

I think I may have an ectopic pregnancy.  My beta in the 10 days of testing has gone from 16 > 40 > 69 > 44 > 68.  This is definitely not normal and I'm highly assuming it's an ectopic.  By when can this be detected on an ultrasound?  I'm suppose to about 3 - 4 weeks pregnant but hcg is super low.  So not sure if U/S will detect anything at this level.  I don't want to wait until hcg goes over 1000 b/c my tube may rupture by then.  Any thoughts?  Doc wants me back for a blood test next week. I'm getting really worried.  Already have enough fertility issues, don't want to lose a tube now.

Thank you so much for your post.  How long did you have to wait before trying again after the ectopic?

I got bleed since I was in 5 weeks, when I have ectopic pg (IVF pg).  There is nothing in uterus. My first HCG started at 37 and up to >6800 at 7 weeks before the tube got rupture.  I glad to remove the tube to prevent the ectopic again since I need IVF any way.  My following IVF result a lovely son who will turn 5 months old this Xmas.
I think you still need to come back for the beta and nothing we can do  now.  If you are about 6 weeks pg and HCG above 2000 and nothing in uterus then you may ask for the shot to resolve it.  I hope your HCG is up next time and turn out you have a normal/healthy pg.
