Progesterone Suppositories & LH Surge

Hello.  I have been TTC for 4 months.  (Also, It has been 4 months since d/c the bcp)  Each month, I have been spotting 7 days post ovulation until the start of my period.  My OBGYN did a progesterone blood test on day 22 and found that my level = 8.9.  I was prescribed progesterone 25 mg vaginal suppositories BID to start the 1st day after LH surge.  Most months, my LH surge occurs and then I have a temperature rise 3-4 days later.  Am I in danger of inhibiting ovulation if I start the progesterone before the egg is released?  Should I wait for a temperature rise?  Is 25mg a stardard dosage for low progesterone?

I guess I am confused why you are taking the progesterone. CD22 progesterone at 8.9 means you ovulated. Anything over 5 means ovulation. What are they trying to achieve with the suppositories?
