Prometrium

Hi there.  New here and trying to find some answers...TTC for 2 years...3 miscarriages and still trying for our first child.

I have been perscribed Prometrium 200mg for 10 days to help bring on a period after which I am to take 100mg of Serophene to assist me in ovulating.  My question is this... I started spotting on day 7 of taking the Prometrium and then more bleeding on day 8 but nothing substantial and so I continued to take the Prometrium.  The bleeding stopped by days 9 of taking Prometrium so I don't know if this constitutes a real period?  I was t start taking Serophene on day 3 of my period so you can see my dilema...  Was it a period, or should I expect to get my period AFTER finishing the 10 days of Prometrium?  I don't want to start the Serophene if it wasn't really a period.  Any else have this type of spotting during taking Prometrium and did you wait until after the 10 day cycle and THEN get a period?  Thanks...

I wasn't on prometrium but I started spotting really early this cycle.  Eventually the spotting got heavier but not like my usual af.  I ended up seeing the RE and he gave me clomid on what he thought was day 5.  It must've been b/c I never got af and I think I o'ed this past Sat.  I would call your RE and see what he wants to do.  Maybe he can do a sono and see how your lining is and your progesterone to tell if it's af or not....

This happened to me too.  I called my RE and they said that it is normal to spot while taking Prometrium.  You should expect a real period anytime after the stop of taking it.  It could take up to 10 days.
