It would be your next period that indicates that you're ovulating (not the first one coming up, but the second one). This first period is only brought on by the provera, which will increase your progesterone levels and trick your brain into starting a new cycle. It then depends on how your body responds to the meds whether or not you will ovulate next month. Since I'm not that familiar with PCOS and metformin myself, 'm not sure how long it normally takes before it starts working. Once your cycles become more regular, though, you should be able to better pinpoint your fertile days and when to take ovulation tests if you decide to use those. But until then, if you happen to notice stretchy, clear cervical mucus (eggwhite looking), chances are you're getting close to ovulation, which means it's a good time to start trying! Best of luck!
