Questions to those that have previously miscarried after an IVF

I've read alot of posts that discuss miscarriage between 8-12 weeks.  My question to those that have miscarried were there signs along the way?  Was everything, HCG levels, progesterone levels, US, and quality of embroyos all good?  Or was there concern some where along the line.

I am so fortunate to be 5.5 weeks pregnant!  However, I can't wait to be into our second tri-mester.  We have a ways to go and was hoping someone could ease my mind.  I'm definitely staying positive but just wondering about others expereineces.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi there
I m/c at 12 weeks the baby stopped growing at & weeks we had a baby ccan at 7 weeks 3 days all perfect I had no symptoms no blood just was very pale and sickly looking I had a silent miscarriage and had a d&c I was like you and was always trying to make sure I knew all the signs but I didn't have any. My advice is to stop thinking negatively and focus on keeping yourself healthy any other thinking is a waste of energy. Enjoy your baby and being pregnant what's meant for you wing pass you my mum says. But positive thinking will help and stressing over something that please god that will never happen is a waste of time ! Good luck and take cAre of yourself xx

When I miscarried, I started spotting brown about 4 days before the u/s.  When we went in, there was nothing there.  I stopped meds and miscarried soon after.  My m/c was due to Asherman's disease, which I had a hysterscopy for and hopefully has taken care of all of my issues.

Good luck and Don't Stress!!!  Enjoy being pregnant!!!!  You've Been Blessed! Enjoy!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you :) My second u/s is this Thursday, so I'm also on pins and needles here... My first u/s was great - the baby was holding strong and the heartbeat was also strong. I told myself I would finally relax after that u/s, ha! Wishful thinking :)

Thanks to everyone for sharing!  I really appreciate your input.  The weekends tend to be tough!  I have a lot more time to think and wonder.  mlb1234 you've definitely help to put my mind at ease.  Congratulations on your daughter!  So far we have had really great reprots regarding our embryo grading, beta, and u/s!  I'm keeping positive thoughts!  We are heading for our second u/s this Friday.  Hoping to hear the heartbeats!
Melissa-I hope things go well this summer.  I'll check back in with you to get an update!  Good Luck!

I had 2 m/c but not with IVF.  I can only say when things are good - betas and u/s's -  they usually stay good but when things don't add up trouble may be ahead.  With my 2 m/c we never did betas and the u/s's were never good.  When I was pregnant with my daughter everything went perfectly.  But there are always exceptions to the rule and some have had weird betas and been fine and others have had good u/s and m/c.  It just depends but you should relax and just try to enjoy it because today you ARE pregnant!

hello just read post and all I can tell you is to stay positive, chill, take it easy and relax. I too had my first attempt at ivf back in april. I got to 5.5 weeks then miscarried, started bleeding, red and like a period, no pain or cramps. The strange thing was the dr took bloods after 3 days of mild bleeding and my progesterone and hsg were rising? its only when we went for ultrasound they couldnt see anything and said i had had an early miscarriage , they did bloods again and my levels had dropped. i also did a digital hpt and got the "not pregnant" sign, just seeing those words got me real low the week before it read pregnant 2-3. I will never no what caused the mc but we are trying naturaly again for couple months and may have another go at ivf in august if nothing happens. all the best with your little one, take care melissaxx

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage but appreciate you taking the time to respond. Unfortunatley, we were unable to conceive on our own so we did have to go through IVF.  This is our first time.  So were you fairly suprised when you miscarried?  Were there signs earlier in your pregnancy?

Honestly, the best thing you can do is to relax. Stess is definitely not good for pregnancy. If you got pregnant on your own then you don't really have any reason to worry. Things like age is what makes the risk higher. For me, we saw a heartbeat but then lost it a couple of week later. My miscarraige was becasue of a genetic problem - which is why most miscarraiges happen in the first 12 weeks. One thing I can tell you is that generally, bright red spotting isn't a good thing. Bad cramping would be another reason to call your doctor. Good luck! Hope this was helpful
