Sperm testing results

Hello
I just got my DH labs back on his sperm tests and I am concerned about his morphology #'s. They came in at 94%, which means only 6% are perfect. His motility is great at 71%, but the little buggers can be as fast and active as all get out, but if they are just spinning in circles it does no good. The weird part is that a nurse at our RE office said this was within normal range... I think she is wrong!!

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge they can share with me on this topic?!

Any input helps! Thanks!

Thanks for the encouragement but I'm still confused. I keep getting conflicting opinions on this matter. If anyone out there with the same issue and had a successful conception, I'd love to hear from you.

I found out they are using the Kruger standard which is much more critical and selective. The normal range for this 14% that are not abnormal. However, our nurse said that the test has become so critical that it is extremely rare to see anyone hit that number, and most men come in around 2 - 5%.  If this is true, and I have found other opinions to back it up, then your hubby is well within normal as well.

Here is a link to another RE that has the EXACT opinion of the office I go to:

Good luck!

typically if those reports say 94% - it means 94% are normal unless it says 96% are abnormal and then yes, you will have challenges with getting pregnant on your own and doing things such as IUI. My dr said they usually like to see at least 15% normal morphology for IUI. My DH has the same issue right now. Last 2 IUI"s we did, his morphology was only coming back 3 and 4% normal! I can't even believe my old RE did the IUI's with those numbers but he told me there was so much sperm, it was fine. When i saw a new RE last month, he mentioned to me that IUI was probably not an option for us anymore given the morphology and then explained about the %'s. Call your dr back and have them explain it to you. good luck!
