Suggestions On Getting Pregnant After 40

Hi everyone...I know many of you have experience and knowledge about the Fertility World, so can you please share with me what one can do to try to get pregnant in your forties.  I know everyone's case is different.  I was told I have a problem with Advanced Maternal Age as they call it and possibly egg quality and quantity plus my FSH was a little high.  I know this does not sound encouraging but I'd love to hear some success stories or get input on anything one can do to beat the odds.  We have been trying for five years or so and had one failed IVF with donor eggs.  Oh well, I'm just not ready to give up just yet.  I wish everyone that's trying to concieve lots of strength, hope and faith.  Good Luck and God Bless... Hope to hear from you...

I am 41.  Got pregnant at 39 and had son at 40.  AMH (egg reserve) is extremely low.  We are trying to have another and having difficulty again.  Last year, we had 3 failed clomid cycles and one successful follisim cycle.  Alec was born this past January.  We just had another failed clomid cycle and will go on to IVF.  I am waiting for AF to show so I can get started!  Believe me, even when you already have children, it still is an emotional roller coaster!  I hate it and what I hate even more is my friends and family that tell me I should be happy with what I have!  I AM, I just want a 3rd child!  My heart desires it!  Sorry, I am just sad today!
Good luck to you and I am a success story because of my 8 month old!  I am hoping to be another for next year.  :)

Well I just turned 40 and I'm doing ivf.  I don't know about the FSH levels, but I certainly have the same age issue.  I've had several friends get pregnant in their 40s with ivf. Sounds like donor eggs is the way to go if you have some egg issues.  Any reason not to try ivf again?  It is expensive and consuming, but if it works, it works.  I would check with a few different clinics in your area - check the cdc website for success rates.  Best of luck!
