Symptons after an IUI and timing...

I had my 3rd IUI yesterday, 11-19-12, but this is the first cycle where we tried clomid, and the injection to boost ovulation.  But worries/question is: with this IUI I have been very bloated, gassy, feels like someone is sitting on my stomache, should this be just from the meds causing these, because I did not have these before with the other IUI's.  Also How soon have you all had your IUI after getting the injection?
Thanks!

Thank-you for the thoughts ladies!  It means a lot in this world where unless you are going through it, you really can't understand the disappointment!  But I am ready to move onto IVF...first time!  I am nervous, but will make the appointment to meet with the Dr. sometime in the next couple of weeks... might be good to take a break in the busiest month of the year.  Stay positive and dream big!  This WILL happen!!

Back to the drawing board for me... I think Dec is out because now I have to meet with the Doc to get me started with IVF for the first time.  And the meds completely mess with your cycle!  Mine has been all over the place since I started this.  Good luck to all of you!!

Well this is day 14 for me, I can't get my blood test done because I am currently out of the country and won't be returning until dec 14. I have been cramping off and on but really don't feel like AF cramps and no kind of AF discharge. I will probably give it a couple of days then get a HPT. I'm going to the bathroom every 20 min just to see if AF is trying to show its face but nothing so far, baby dust to you all!

OMG, I can hardly stand this wait, can you!?! Today is day 12 since my IUI, and today I am having stronger cramping, which feel like i would be starting any time now, but normally I wouldnt be starting till 12-5-12, but with having clomid and the injection the day prior to the IUI I wasnt sure if those two items totally throws off my normal AF arrival, and if I was to start would it be right at the end of the 2WW? Are you experiencing any cramps or anything else today? Crossing finger & toes for you!!

I have cramping on and off throughout my 2ww, and I dread going through this day because it is the day before my b.t.  Usually this is when my body betrays me.  I was pregnant once before in my life and I never had any symptoms except for cramping but that was well after my first missed period and we had given up on even trying, so it had come as a surprise.  And as it turned out, I lost the baby, so cramping to me never feels right, even though I know it is a typical symptom for most.  Will be crossing my fingers and toes for you!  The wait is the worst!

Our tww is almost over, I haven't really been having any symptoms, stomach feels like AF is trying to come on but then the feeling goes away. 2 more days and my tww will be over. Have you been having any symptoms?

We did our IUI 24hrs after injection too...I was bloated and my stomache actually twitched.  We did not have much luck with IUI so we did IVF.
Good luck!

Just reading through some of the comments on here and thought I would give you my input. I did a trigger at 9pm then IUI the next day at noon so less than 24 hrs. I hadn't ovulated yet so my dr does a 2nd IUI the following day. I only had one mature follicle being 20mm and I now have an 18 month old daughter from that :) I am trying again this month... should fall in the next few days. I will do this the same way again. As far as symptoms go... I do also take clomid wiht my IUI and had all those symptoms... the meds make you have a ton of symptoms :( SSBD and hope I answered some questions on timeing and symptoms. Also, just FYI I tested 11dp trigger and got my 1st + but watched it get darker daily until my bld test.

My doctor has not had my on progesterone because he said he is phasing it out of his practice.  So I don't know how that will go.  I actually haven't had any side effects from the Gonal-F or Ovidrel.  Maybe some cramping?  Will be hoping for the best all the way around!

True - Very odd feeling during the minutes following IUI procedure - realizing in those special few moments I'm supposed to have conceived in the sterile, stark office!  Good to know about days 5 & 6 following - no inter...  There are so many things to find out along the way and not everything is really covered in the doc office on what to expect while you wait, shoot up, etc.  I did IUI on Sat & start the inserts of Projest. Wed. so the 2WW just got started.  In early 40s now so in same situationon time... Any changes to be aware of after starting the projest? Been tired & a little nauseous & dizzy from the shots so far leading up to the IUI day...that's tapered off but thinking the projesterone's going to fire that back up a notch? Hope the 2WW goes quick with good news!

Its funny how reproduction becomes more about the procedure than the actual act that is supposed to get you there.... they usually tell us anything on the day of the procedure is fine and intercourse after in the days that follow is fine, but not on the 5th and 6th day because of the possibility of implantation.  I am going towards IVF now because I am 39 and don't have a lot of time anymore.  My insurance wouldn't help with the cost without doing three cycles of IUI first.  I was hopeful this would do the trick so I wouldn't have to go there, but we will see what this week brings.

I am in the same situation as you, just had IUI done on Nov 16. Hormone shot on the 18th, and this is also my third IUI. This two week wait is hard but I try not to think about it. I keep telling myself that I want to try IVF if this cycle isn't successful but haven't really made up my mind yet. I have a friend that did IVF last month and was successful their first try.
Well, just wanted to share with you because we are almost n the same timeline, fingers crossed for us both!

If this helps for comparison, I went to appt this morning & they called me after blood work came back - everything looked good to proceed w/ Ovidrel shot tonight @ 6 - supposed to have inter tomorrow and scheduled for 7:30 am Sat for IUI. Did they suggest more inter following the procedure? Good luck!

I have never used clomid, but have been using the Gonal-F pen and then the Ovidrel trigger shot 2 days before my IUIs.  Usually after the trigger shot I get an e-mail from my doctor to have intercourse that night, then go in two days later for the procedure.  I just had my third IUI this past Saturday and am now waiting for Dec 1 for the blood test to see if it took.  I have had a little cramping since Sat., but then again every little feeling is blown out of proportion because I am overly sensitive to all this.  This is my last IUI before we go to IVF, and I feel like they had me do the trigger shot earlier in my cycle than before.  I don't know if its because they really don't think it is going to work and want to get it out of the way or what.  I know waiting is horrid, but I hope it is worth it!  Good luck!

One of the things that i have read is, the IUI should happen after a least 36-38 hours after getting the injection, and my worry is my dr gave me the iui too early, i got it exactly 24 hrs after the injection.  What have other people experienced?

I'll find out more on the timing of the shot once I do my IUI later this week (hopefully if the doc likes the results on Thursday morning!)  As for the side effects of the shot; I did this same shot last month following first round of meds & the side effects left a tremendous amount of bloating and feeling of pressure like you're describing. The shot kind of mimicked feelings of a pregnancy according to what the doc's office shared.  Good luck!
