Hi, I just had a HSG and my doctor diagnosed me with a Tshaped uterus. I am very sadden by this news. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 4 years now. My doctor is suggesting surgery to try and reshape my uterus. I've very reluctant b/c I just had surgery 6 mos ago to remove fibroid tumors. The experience was horrible. I was out of commission for literaly 1 month for an out patient surgery. At this point I'm very torn. My husband and I want to have a baby so bad, but seems like there are obstacles on every hand. Needless to say I am very discouraged. Thanks for sharing your story. You have given me hope
Hi. I'm the friend luvkayln mentioned :) I had my HSG in Oct '08 & like
you, I was diagnosed with a T-shaped uterus. Everything else with my husband & I checked out ok. My RE suggested IVF from Day 1, but I refused & wanted to try other options. He was concerned about multiples with a T-shaped uterus because it basically means our uteruses are much smaller than normal. So, eventually, 7 months later after diagnosis, I took my his advice & went ahead with IVF, transferring only one embryo in an effort to avoid multiples. Well, luvkayln was right. There's about a 1% chance a single embryo will split resulting in twins & that's what happened to us :) We're 19 weeks & so far, the babies are doing well, measuring appropriately. There is definitely hope :) Please feel free to message me or send a note if you have any questions or concerns. I know how upsetting it is to be diagnosed with something you have no clue about. Best wishes! :)
I have a very good friend on here who has a t-shaped utereus, and she's currently 19 weeks pregnant with twins! :) She did an IVF and only transferred 1 embryo in the risk that she wouldn't be able to hold 2 b/c of her uterus shape, but God had different plans for her and her babies are doing wonderful! :) I hope this gives you hope!
