Well there are sooo many things you can do beyond clomid, hopefully you won't have to, but remmeber your no where near the end of the road, there is lots of hope!!! GOOD LUCK! keep us updated! I'll keep ya in my thoughts and prayers! : )
Thanks me too. Since I am now 31, I have been feeling down feeling like I am running out of time. And with our insurance not covering anything at all related to fertility, I feel like everything is just going against us I really hope this will work. But I feel so doubtful. This has just been going on for so long. Thanks again for everyone's help.
Yea typically when your still having AF and no actual ovulation your uterine lining is still shedding.. I was in shock when we found out!!! Anyhow yea my dh's ph was off on the first SA too, and i can't remember if it was low, i think it was acidic (lower than normal )gosh can't remember, but since then has been fine.. the morphology has remained only 2% though...I could never find a great answer as to why the PH was off on the first one though- no one seemed to think that mattered much though! I think people can defintely get preg all natural with a count like that, but not sure! I'm not an expert on count by any means! Of course it only takes just one sperm and just one egg! so by increasing your eggs that will help for sure! GOOD LUCK! keep us updated! I hope that clomid will do the trick for yall and you wont' have to do anything else! :)
Also, I am assuming the morphology was fine because she said the only two things that were off was the count and the PH. With the PH, what does that have to do with anything. She said it was slightly elevated. Is that something to worry about or not? And she acted like the sperm count (19.5 million) was nothing to worry about too. Does that sound right?
Thanks Tina for all the information, especially the Walmart info. You made me feel much better because everywhere I see online it says that Clomid is good to take if you are not ovulating. So since I am going to take the Clomid, I guess there is probably no need for further testing to see if I am ovulating or not. But if you are having a period every month and not ovulating, what is coming out? Is it just your lining or something? Thanks again for everyone's help and congratulations to Tina on becoming the community leader (I think that is what it is called.) I come to this site often and read what you guys wrote but I don't post that much. Everyone here really is great and I wish good luck to each one of you.
Yes, unfortunately just because you get your period every month doesn't guarantee you O each month (I always got positive OPK"s around cd17 or 19 and AF every 30 days)
Yes, clomid can make you produce more eggs which can defintely make the chance of preg increase.... Also do you have good cervical mucus around O time? Egg white consistency? If not you can try preseed ( a sperm safe lubricant) sometimes the problem can be as easy as that to fix! Clomid in some people can decrease the amount of EWCM so just in case you might want to get some preseed when O comes around and your mucus is not ideal!
IUI works well for people that have lower sperm count.. what was the morphology?? And as tina said, zing is great and so is a good multivitamin and vitamin C (1000mg)/day for the guy!
I ovulate every cycle and I did 5 rounds of Clomid. I was rx'd it to increase # of follies and increase the chance of pg. I did get pg the 2nd round and mc.
Clomid is one of the drugs on Walmart's low cost rx list. Check there b4 filling it. It can really save $$. It's not on the $4 list, but is either $6 or $8. That is still cheaper than my insurance deductible.
Yes, you can have a period every cycle and still not o. The only 100% way to tell is by u/s. The next best way is a progesterone test approx 7dpo. Usually around cycle day 21. Opks can tell if you have an Lh surge, but not confirm o actually happened.
There are natural supplements available that help with low count. Zinc and L-arginine are two that come to mind. It can't hurt to try it :)
Even if I do get my period every month, could I not be ovulating every month? I had some sort of blood test, I think it was on day three of my cycle, I can't remember but it was for like four different things. My doctor never said that there was a problem so I'm thinking that they were normal. And my insurance will not cover any sory of infertility testing, treatment or anything. I have been off of the pill for about four years now and not using any protection. I guess maybe we have been trying off an on for a couple of years now. Since my husband has borderline low sperm count, can the Clomid help improve our chances?
Lots of regular obgyn's prescribe clomid.... which can be a good way to go especially if your insurance will cover a visit to them and not an RE. But if your insurance pays for an RE they typically do much more monitoring (at the beginning of your cycle they do an ultrasound to make sure no cysts, then around O time they check to see what your follicles are doing.. how many you have and make sure your lining looks good ) they also check bloodwork throughout the month make sure all of that looks good... for me my RE wanted an ultrasound the day after our IUI (which we did since we have so many issues). so i thought that was strange, but it turned out that the follie was still there and growing (thats typically how cysts form when on drugs like clomid, its a follie that didnt' rupture and release the egg).
Another (maybe cheaper) way to check if you Ovulated is for them to check a progesterone blood level after ovulation ( i want to say on cd21 or 7 days after ovulation), and that can give you an idea as well.. How long have yall been ttc?
How did the RE find out that the follicle wasn't releasing the egg? Was there a test or something? I just feel nervous because at first my doctor was going to recommend me to a fertility center and then I just asked her if I can try Clomid and she just said "okay, you can try it." So I just got nervous since she is not a RE. Thanks for your help.
I would say give the clomid a try! I also thought I was ovulating every month, always got my period every 30 days and i just went to an RE two months ago and come to find out My follicle wasn't releasing the egg after all! Even though I always got a positive OPK and good EWCM each month around O time... so we have used femara, trigger and then progesterone ( i also had low progesterone, among other things to blame the infertility on!) GOOD LUCK, if you've tried for a while without it, hopefully that will be the factor that you need to get that BFP! : )
I have tried ovulation kits, no chiropractor. My tubes have been checked through HSG and also had a laparoscopy. I may have a fibroid but I don't know for sure. When I had the HSG done, the doctor kept asking if I was sure I wasn't pregnant and I kept saying "no" and then he said, "okay, it must be a fibroid then, talk to your doctor about it." So my doctor said if I do have a fibroid not to worry about it because I would still be able to get pregnant. So anyway, I'm pretty sure everything is okay with me.
my case is slightly the same... I ovulate but not all the time... I am taking clomid to make sure I o now all the time. They say Clomid also helps in producing bigger and healthier eggs. Have you tried ovulation predictor kits? or chiropractor? nothing wrong in trying other stuffs aside from clomid since you are ovulating anyway... Unexplained infertility sucks. Did you get your tubes checked? through HSG? any polyps? fibroids? these can affect you too you know... well let me know what you decide on and Good LUCK to all of us TTC...baby dust
