Thyroid 5.5 - IVF On hold

Dear ladies

i was so excited as i was told that my IVF gets kicked off this month. all set and was about to go for next appointment this thursday and today i get a call saying my thyroid is 5.5 and hence RE wants me to see a physician first and control that number to come within 0 to 4.5.

that was so upsetting; disappointing and frustrating. i cant afford to wait longer keeping my FSH and AMH being abnormal and these guys dont give us any option. what do you think? how long would it take to bring thyroid down?

Dear friends

i am going for my second TSH blood test today; if my number comes down from 5.5; i can call my RE for next appointment else i would need to wait for some more time; my AMH being 0.47 i dont have much time; i am just unable to handle this whole stress and pressure.

will update you with the results tomorrow. fingers crossed.

i am given levothyroxine 0.025mg from today and we repeat blood test after a month. i hope my number drops so that RE can kick start my cycle.

does diet or exercise help a lot or not much to reduce thyroid?

You really want your level to be around 1 so it really makes sense to wait until it is lower.  Mine was 3.67 and a month later it after meds it was around 2 and a month after that around one. I am only taking 25 mcg of levothyroid.  You will have a better chance of success with a lower tsh.  I would wait at least a month before your ivf.

Probaly 2 weeks to the levels it needs to be. I had one of 6.04 and it was down in two weeks to 3...I responded well to levothyroxine 75 mcg.
