Why my first IVF failed?

Hi everyone,
It is my first time doing IVF, I am 37 years old, I had one blastocyst 10 days ago transferred. I went today for a blood test, unfortunately, it was negative. I feel devastated, shocked, and angry. I don't know what went wrong. I followed all the instructions regarding the medications, shots, I am just perplex and can't think anymore. By the way, i am 37 years old. Please if everyone had the same experience or heard about it. Please let me know if it is common thing. Thanks a lot.

Sorry that you are going through this. No one really knows why the implántation doesnt occur and i think thars the hsrdest part... having hope but no guarantee. They say follow cycles should improve since they can learn from the first. You are not alone in this. My first ivf failed i cried everyday for a week i was so disappointed..

Dont lose hope. Baby dust & may comfort find you.

Hi Younglove31,
God bless you for your nice message! I agree with you sometimes it is hard to know what was the reason. I did many research on google and according to some fertility Clinics  it came  up to threee major reasons: embryo itself didn't develop right due to genetics defect second the uterus itself and the last one was the transfer technique. So, again those are theories that could be the reason why, but I can't say if there as facts or fixion. I just try to improve my health, to loose weight, exercise more, and have accupuncture before the transfer and after. And if all my efforts do not help then I have to let it in god hands, and look for adoption in the future because I can't imagine to go for the round three. It just too much emotional investment and financial too.

I'm so sorry ivf#1 didn't work for you. This is sad to hear just when I'm just about to start treatment myself..My Dr explained the outcomes and reasons which might occur. She told noone could guarantee ivf cycle to be successful, being this 1st, 2nd or 3rd..We feel so powerless with this truly. But I'm hoping so much we both will get success  better sooner than later. Here's some of my  background. With ex partner ttc  for 13 months without success. He even didn't want to a dr which drove me crazy. So this was the reason we broke up leaving me childless 38 yrs old. Now I'm 40, my dh is amazing, so we decided to give another try. Unfortunately things didn't turn to get better. Apart from being old and fat! there's no expalnation. My last amh check result came in 10,8. We're undergoing ivf overseas. I've already started injections though it was not easy due to my needle phobia..Another thing making me jealous (shame on me!!) is my heavily prego sister..I'll keep us in my prayers. Hoping so much for our coming up cycles to be hugely successful. All the best xx

I'm so sorry!  I  know that is so disappointing.  This does happen.  And if you can try another round, this does not mean that it wont work the second time either.  I know that is not much consolation now.  Truly sorry.  hugs
