Women of Strength!!!

A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! =)  My last RE appt went great!  We were so surprised with our u/s because we could see our babies' heads, bodies w/beating hearts, arms, legs & fingers!  It was amazing.  I uploaded a pic & also a pic from my day shopping with my mom.  We went shopping for maternity clothes & I was told that since I was a size small pre-pregnancy, I would wear a small in maternity clothes.  Well, I told you all I've thickened up quite a bit & the smalls just wouldn't fit!  haha ;)  But I got lots of great work clothes & we had a fun day together!

Don't have much time, have to pack and then leave for the rehearsal/dinner/wedding weekend lol...

Luvkayln & Mommyin10: I don't think I'm going to get the shot either. I keep going back and forth but it does make me really nervous and I know it's not even out yet!! There is a lot of controversy and I don't feel there is enough testing and such to say it's safe for our unborn children. Basically you protect yourself the way you do from any other bug. I looked up all the symptoms and such on the CDC website. I have a sore throat now, but I don't have a fever or anything. I think it's just from the weather change and my yearly cold lol- or allergies. But this whole vaccine thinig scares me. I got the regular flu shot when I was p/g with ds, so I'll just probably do that again....

Have a good weekend ladies!!! I'll check in when I get back!!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)

luvkayln:  My ob brought it up to me.  I know it seems like once you get the flu shot, you get the flu, but that's really just a coincidence.  It just means that you already caught the bug before you got the shot.  The shot doesn't actually give you the flu.  I got one last year since we were ttc & I was fine ;)  I do plan to get both, but I haven't heard all the controversy that you have.  I've just heard about how dangerous swine flu is for pregnant women & I can't imagine getting either flu while pregnant ;(  I think my workplace, too, is one where I'm more likely to catch something, so I don't want to take any chances ;) I'll talk more with my ob on Tues, too.  After the fence, dh will sand and paint the moulding in our front room.  Then he'll move on to the stone floor in the kitchen, going into the great room.  After that, he'll do the hardwood in the babies' room, which will come into the hallway & meet the stone floor.  Then we can decorate! =) Woo-Hoo!  It's supposed to be so much cooler this weekend, in the 80s.  I'm really counting on it because it's just been completely miserable lately ;(  Have fun shopping tomorrow!!!

Dnikki- Wow, that's so scary! What was the cause for her delivering so early?? The whole swine flue shot just makes me nervous all around. Maybe I'll feel better after talking to my doctor about it on Tuesday, but at this point right now, I'm leaning towards just getting a regular flu shot versus both. I feel like there's a huge debate about it, and people are saying they just don't know enough about it to recommend it?! That scares me, and of course I know it's not ready yet, but it still gets me nervous... Ok, so about your pain, I get that pretty much every night, because I can't sleep on my back anymore and have to sleep on my sides. Really it's from all your weight being on one side for too long, so once you switch sides it'll relieve the pain on the other side. All I do all night is switch sides about every 2 hours b/c the pain will wake me up!

Mommyin10- You seem so set on getting both shots, and maybe I'll feel more comfortable about it like you are once I talk to my doctor. Did your doctor bring it up or did you say something? My doctor hasn't even mentioned it to me?! About getting either shot!!! I haven't had a flu shot since I was young, and you know what's ironic. My mom got the flu shot 1 time b/c her doctor had recommended it, I guess it was going around really bad one year. And that same year, she got the flu!? So it's like, are these shots really going to prevent the flu or even the swine flu if you get them?! So are they saying it's going to be the worst in the winter time? What's the reason for that, do you know? I really need to think about Adalynn here, so if I get the shot while still pregnant with her, will she still be ok through the winter months and I won't have to worry so much about her getting it?? Uugh, I'm just nervous about the whole thing, but like I said, maybe when I talk to my doctor I'll feel better. I'll let you know what she says and what she recommends me to do. :) My appointment is at 9:00, but I'll have to get there a little early to get my lab stuff done since I'm getting my diabetes test done. At least my doctor gave me the gluclose to drink on the way up there so I don't have to sit there an extra hour for nothing! :) What is dh's project after the fence? Be sure and take pics when it's up, ok? :)

Mrspace- This is very weird to not hear from you for a few days?! Hope everything is ok!! Check in soon, ok? :)

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!! :)

I mentioned this to luvkayln, but my ob advised me to get the flu shot this month & the swine flu shot next month when it's available. She said to contact her asap if I have flu-like symptoms or if I'm around anyone with flu-like symptoms & she'd prescribe Tama-flu, because swine flu is so dangerous for pregnant women. You would basically be in the hospital on a respirator. She also said to get them in your ob's office because when they're done in a mass work-setting or grocery store environment, they're not quite the same. I can't remember exactly why, but I'll double-check with her on Tuesday. I am definitely planning to get both unless I hear something that changes my mind :)

Keyan: DS seemed to be better this morning - just a little congested is all. I'm glad the weather is getting better. Just su cks that you will have so much rain in the next couple of days :-( I'm am so happy with my doppler!!! I use it all the time lol :-) I can't believe I'm already 16wks!! I have another week and a half before we find out - I'm getting so impatient lol! Luvkayln thinks I'm having a girl and so does half my family lol... We shall see! Congrats on not feeling hot flashes!!! When will the Lupron be out of your system?

Luvkayln: Thanks!!! I can't believe I'm already 16 wks...it seems like it's flying by this time around. Last night I woke up around 2 to go to the bathroom and I had an aweful pain type thing on my left actual side and through that part of my back, it felt like a huge charlie horse in my back! I switched postions to lay on my right side and it relieved it a bit so I could fall back to sleep - But it was enough where at 430 a.m when I got up to check DS (Crying) I got out my doppler lol - The HB is kinda hard to find in the middle of the night lol!! DS is feeling better it seems - just still a little congested this morning. About the H1N1 vaccine - I talked to my mom about it this morning and I guess there was a p/g lady who got it and they delivered the baby at 6mo. and the last she heard the mom was still in a coma...I think I'm going to get it especially since I'll be p/g through almost the whole cold and flu season. I'll talk to my OB about it on the 15th though. Scary stuff!!

Mrspace: Where are you?

AFM: DS is feeling better, just still congested a little. Today I'm doing the task of cleaning DS's closet...and what a task it is lol!!! Going through what to keep as far as baby bath tub and such. Some stuff we had we absolutely hated so we are getting rid of it. I'm hoping DS's room will be done by the end of October so all his stuff can move up there and we can get the baby's room together. I'm in a wedding this weekend - we've been best friends since the 4th grade, we leave tomorrow for it, it should be fun!! As long as it's not hot out lol (outside wedding...). I'm going to try to take more belly shots today since I'm now 16wks, I'll let you all know when I do...

For the Ladies who have a BFP:
Will you be getting the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available? What are your thoughts on it? I'm just trying to weigh everything, but I'm pretty sure I will be getting it since they are saying kids and p/g woman are at the highest risk and with being p/g they said it could harm the baby...Just wondering your thoughts!!! Thanks!!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)

sbumblebeeo:  Thanks!  I'll check her out ;)  How are you feeling?

luvkayln:  Happy 24 Weeks!!! =)  It's good to know I can always pump if it doesn't work, so at least they're getting breast milk either way, but I will defnitely give it a try! ;)  Thanks for the info on the nipple shields.  I have heard about bleeding and cracking... Thank God it's a -3-day weekend =)  dh will be putting up our picket fence after painting the pickets last weekend.  There's almost 200 of them, so it took a while.  Hopefully he'll be able to get it done this weekend so we can move on to another project.  Each project is one step closer to the babies' room! =)  Have fun shopping with your mom!  That's always fun =)  Can't wait til Tues.   What time's your appt?  Mine isn't til 1:45. So, will you get a flu shot and/or swine flu?  My ob had told me she'd give me both.  I didn't think anything bad about either, but let me know what you know.  She told me that if I get flu-like symptoms or if I'm around anyone with them, to contact her right away to get Tama-flu because swine flu is so dangerous for a pregnant woman.  You would basically be in the hospital on a respirator...  I'm interested in learning what you've heard.

Keyan:  Wow, 6?!  I can't imagine.  Haha ;)  I agree that my body will probably produce what is needed.  My whole body has changed so much, so I can imagine what's to come ;)  I'm so happy to hear your hot flashes are minimizing!  That's awesome & puts you one step closer to ttc! =)

Hannah:  How'd your appt go yesterday?!

Keyan- Thanks for the note this morning! :) Congrats on no more hot flashes, yay!! I'll be able to say the same for myself soon, haha!! No, actually the plaque I'm referring to on the dresser my dad made is on top above the mirror. It's actually a black plaque with gold writing on it that says "Kayln Elizabethe Stegeman, Living eternally in our hearts." It's very sweet, and Addy will definately learn the meaning of it and know she has a big sis in Heaven! I know you're in a "hurry up and wait" process right now, but hopefully the waiting won't be for too much longer and you'll get right back to ttc! :) Glad to hear the weather is going to be cooling down for you this weekend! It definately has been here, and I love it! :)

Mommyin10- Happy 10 weeks! :) I'm glad to hear you're willing to give breastfeeding a shot! :) It's definately worth it at least to try, I can only imagine how feeding 2 would be! You probably won't even have time to pump, you'll just be constantly feeding! ;) Hey, one for each side, right?! Haha!! ;) They say you should for at least the first 6 weeks b/c it builds their immune system up faster, but if anyone could handle it for 6 weeks then you should be able to keep going b/c you're used to the pain. Now they make nipple sheilds b/c I've heard stories where women's nipples have cracked and bled from breastfeeding, yikes! I bet the nipple sheilds will really help reduce some pain, ya know?! Only 4 more days till our next appointments! ;) Any plans for the weekend? Mom and I are going shopping on Saturday for guess who???? Haha! ;) Macy's is having a sale and they have adorable baby clothes, can't wait! :)

dnikki- Happy 16 weeks! :) Awww, poor ds! :( Hopefully he starts to feel better soon! I saw your thread going about the n1h1 vaccine... I was all for getting it until I kept reading people's posts! Now I'm a little hesitant, but I'll definately ask my doctor about it on Tuesday and see what she says. Are you going to talk with your doctor about getting it too?

Mrspace- How are you doing? Haven't heard from you in a while! Hope all is well! Take care!!

Hannah- How'd your appointment go yesterday?

Stacey & Candie- Always thinking about you both! :)

Good Morning!!

Dnikki: How is DS doing? Hope he is feeling better. Congrats on your doppler, hopefully you will be enjoying your 2 days off trying out the doppler a few more times!! Weather here is warm, getting better. We are expecting lots of rain this weekend, starting tomorrow, so that will help to chill a little more the climate! just a couples of more weeks until you find out if is a boy or girl!! how exciting!!

Luvkayln: I love your new profile pic!! On the dresser I think you can see an Angel with its hands in form of a prayer, is that the plaque you refer Grandpa made for Kayln? Everything you made for your little girls look awsome, very pretty!!

Mommyin10: I don't have any experience of breastfeeding, but I do hear and read the most important thing is patience. I also beleive your body will produce as much milk as your babies need. I was watching a show about a mom breasfeeding for 6 !!! she was producing lots of milk...of course she was bottle feeding and probably mixing formula and breast milk, but still, it shows that your body reacts to the needs of your new born or multiple new born!

Stacey: I am so happy your home and Jake is doing great!! Congrats!!

slumblebeeo: Sorry you haven't felt good. Hopefully the med change will help and you start feeling better!!

Candie: IS Almost Friday!!! and on to a loooong weekend!! ;o)

Not much going on with me...I haven't been feeling the hot flashes as much as I did before, so that means good news!!! so far, just hanging!!

Hey look up momofthreecrazykids.  She is a friend on my page and a few others but she has a set of twin girls that she breastfed until they were over a year old.  Then she got pregnant with her newest baby.  It is very possible that you will produce enough for two and if not and each one gets some than I think it will be just fine.

Thanks!  That's good to know ;)  I saw online there are all kinds of twins breastfeeding pillows, etc, so I know it's possible! lol =) I've also been told not to beat myself up if it doesn't work (that goes with one baby or two).  So, we'll plan on trying and see how it goes!  I appreciate all the advice I can get, so thank you =)  I hope ds is feeling better.  Poor guy ;(

sbumblebeeo: I felt aweful off of Zofran, but my stomach pain and constipation went completely away. To me I would have rather thrown up then to go through that type of uneccesary pain again! I got sick 1-2 times a day and I avoided any place that had smells lol!! When I hit about 12-13 wks, I was absolultely fine. Granted, I still can't go to the grocery store lol, but I'm fine to eat and such. I still can't gulp down water even though I feel so thirsty all the time, but I can drink it well and not get sick anymore. I hope you feel better soon!

Mommyin10: My SIL had twins July '08 and she breasfed them both for a bit. But with her first son, she had issues and didn't make enough milk. The docs I think finally told her she needed to give them formula b/c they just weren't gaining enough weight. But that's her. She didn't make enough milk for one let alone 2. I'm sure there are many who have twins and successfully breasfeed though! Or at least you could pump and mix whatever you get with formula that way they are getting some extra anitbodies and nutrition from you :-)

Holy Crow!!! I took ds to the sitter this morning and I laid on the couch about 10 and fell asleep for 3 freaking hours!!! WOW! It felt sooooooo good though lol :-) Babysitter and I are thinking ds may have allergies at the moment instead of a cold - apparently the news was saying how bad the pollen and ragweed are right now...We went ahead and gave him a small dose of children's benedryl. Hopefully it helps the poor little man :-) Check in soon - I'm off today and tomorrow!!!

Happy 16 Weeks!!!  That's okay ;)  I plan on breast feeding too (trying, at least!)  I'm not sure how it'll go with one, let alone two...  So, any info is appreciated =)  Congrats on getting your doppler!  That's awesome!  I woud think you'd still count your weight gain from your pre-pregnancy weight even though it fluctuated.  I hope ds feels better! ;)

Hannah:  Good luck today!

Dang it!  I really thought it was from the prenatal pills.  I started them the same day as the zofran.  I don't know what I'll do if it's the zofran.  I tried to not take one on Sunday and threw up water.  How will I ever get through the next few weeks if I can't take it??  :(  Are you better now?  At the end of ht e1st trimester did you get all better?  I hope so.

sbumblebeeo: Zofran did the same thing to me - my stomach cramps were so aweful I ended up in the ER for a few hours. It also made me not able to go #2 (sorry tmi). I finally called my RE and they said I could take Colace or Peri-Colace to help with the constipation. I ended up taking 4 or 5 of them in a day and a half and I was finally able to go. As sick as I was, after that whole episode I never took my Zofran again and I've been fine since...

I'm back.  I stayed home from work yesterday.  I called the nurse and told her about the spotting and that I haven't gone to the bathroom in 10, since he prescribed those horrible pills.  I asked if I could go back to the over the counter ones and she said yes.  Monday night I was doubled over with horrible cramps.  The nurse told me to take milk of magnesia and a lot of water, which is hard b/c it makes me gag.  It worked but only a little.  Today my muscles in my stomach and back are so sore from all the cramping.  I took a warm bath and it helps but only for a little while.  Happy 9 weeks today!  3 more to go and we've made it through the danger zone.  I can't wait.  Oh and they called me in more of the zofran.  That stuff has saved my life!

luvkayln-  I posted on your picture but oh yes do I love that dresser.  It is beautiful.  And I am excited to see your 3d u/s.  I want that too.  Did you have to go somewhere special for it or do they do it at your doctors office?

Hey ladies!!!

Dreamdancer: Welcome!! You are so close to your beta and I wish you much luck!!!

Mommyin10: I plan on bf'ing with this one...I wanted to with ds, but that didn't go as planned. He was much to hungry to want to try and suck that hard lol! I supplemented with formula but I also pumped and mixed my milk with it.  Hopefully this one will go a bit easier lol.

Luvkayln: I LOVE Addy's room!!! It's so cute!! I can't wait to find out what we are having so I can buy stuff lol!!!

Jmh: Glad to hear you are doing well :-)

Mrspace: Where are you? Hope all is well your way.

Keyan: How are you? Weather fairing well down there?

AFM: I worked 2-10 last night so I am TIRED!!! Tips were decent though so I can't complain much lol! Things are going well here - I got my doppler and I LOVE IT!!! I use probably 2-3 times a day lol. I should invest stock into the doppler gel company lol!!! I'm starting to feel baby move more and more now - and also some good punch/kicks!! It's funny to hear when the baby kicks the doppler wand :-) So, I have a Q - I lost 5 lbs in the beginning - I gained it back so do I start counting my gain when I hit my original weight or from where I started gaining it back?? Idk lol!
DS is coming down with a cold I think - this weather has been screwy here. It went from 85 to below 70 late last week with the nights getting down to the low 40's. I love this kind of weather but it's not been fair to DS. So there's a bottle of hand sanitizer and a box of kleenex everywhere we go!!!  Well, I'm going to get going...Hope everyone has a good day and I'll check in later!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-)

Jmh2005- Aww, sorry about AF, but I'm glad you're ready for a new cycle which means a new chance for a BFP! :) How exciting that you'll be debt free in November, and then can start seeing your new RE! Hey, maybe you'll get an awesome suprise right before Christmas!!!! :)

Stacey- You're breastfeeding, right? How's that going? I hear so many scary stories, and even though it's my plan to breastfeed no matter what, I still like to hear about everyone's experiences! :)

Hannah- Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Update when you can! :)

dreamerdancer- Hope the symptoms you're feeling are good ones! Good luck and we'll all be hopeful for a BFP for you!! ;)

dreamerdancer:  I know the tww is difficult, but you're so close to your blood test!  That's exciting ;)  I felt cramps as well from 3-5 days after my transfer.  I tested 6 days after and got a negative, but then tested again the next day & got a faint positive, which turned darker each day thereafter :)  Good luck to you & welcome!

jmh2005:  Sounds like you have a great plan!  Good for you =)  Sorry about AF, but you are taking it well.  Best wishes for this cycle & thanks for the congrats ;)

Hey girls. Im CD2 thank goodness because I was starting to get worried about where she was. I haven't started a new RE yet. We are paying off some bills first and as of November 1 we will be debt free!!! Yay! I can't wait...then we are going to hit it hard again. But in the mean time we r just seeing what happens the natural way.

mommyin10 - congrats on twinkies!!!
