can I get preg with a 19mm sized follicle?

I have been on clomid for 3 cycles @ first it was 50g and there were no mature follicles but multiple, thereafter I took a 100g this was in Nov and futunately there was a matured follicle of about 19mm although it was just one with lots and multiple follicles. Unfortunately, in dec MP started although I tot I had all the possible signs of pregnancy but still nothing happened and I had to take yet another round of clomid 100g and I still have the same result again although this time it was 1mm bigger and on my left. Please does any one know whether or not it is possible to concieve with just one mature follicle (PCOS).

I will really appreciate a prompt response please. Thanks

It's definitely possible to conceive with one follicle, and 19mm is a great size! Plus, by the time you actually ovulate, it will probably have grown a couple more millimeters. Best of luck!

Well. Lucky 19 is giving me no symptoms my ovaries feel heavy and uterus felt heavy yesterday and I'm super tired but I'm blaming that all on my trigger shot

my dear I did but she insisted and said that medications like clomid and metformin are not preg guaranteed that they have just 7% positive outcomes. I wondered why I was told to go for IVF my self and they have really been pushing it. My dear to me I dont want no IVF.

4 cycles of clomid did not work out for me. I also had one follicle. 7 days ago I had iui with injectibles and trigger shot- and only one mature 19 mm folicle. I have to wait 7 more days for results. At first I was told - IVF. We decided iui.
I don't understand why doctors are pushing for IVF???
You are just 27 years old.
Good luck whatever you decide!

I would press as to why no metaformin?  It can't hurt to for you to take it.  I never did since my OB and RE didn't think it would help me and I was OK with not taking it.  However, a friend with PCOS did and she said it really did...so again, why not is what I would ask your ob.

Good luck with your IVF. If you don't mind me asking, why not a try at IUI with injectables before IVF?  My RE was 3 tries and then IVF.  I am just curious, that's all.

Thanks for the info. I am not booked for IUI but IVF by march so what do you think please? I tried to talk my RE into prescribing metforming for me but she insisted I continue with Clomid.

I had a 12-16-19 and they said when I triggered 2. Dayys later the 19 would grow and be perfdct I'm super pcos at 100 mg and triggers, this it my first month with this process but id say lucky 19 for both of us

I think one follicle is good enough since you only need one!  With that said, just wanted to share what my RE prescribed for me for my first IUI cyle since I have PCOS. (I have one dd from an IUI done about 3 years ago. This first round for baby#2 was the exact same cycle that we got our girl.)

I had two good follies this cycle at 19 and 22.  I just had my IUI yesterday.  This cycle was:
Clomid 100mg days 3-7
Bravelle shot 150mg day 9
Trigger shot (HCG) day 11
IUI day 13
now on progestrone 2x a day until pg test two weeks from today

Thanks dear, so u did not get preg with 200mg of clomid and with one follicle? I have been told that if this round does not work out then I would have to go for IVF. But why was it that I did not get preg on the second round of clomid even when my follicle was 19mm. My dear so many things to pounder on. Did you finally get preg? Cheers

Normally people only have one mature follicle when they aren't medicated. Clomid is supposed to help have more than one but that isn't the case for all of us. I was on up to 200mg of clomid and still only producing one follicle. I had my issues and we also had male factors too so we switched to IUI after 6 months of clomid. I did 100 mg of clomid with the IUI and a trigger shot as well and only had 1 marture follicle and got my BFP. It only takes one and one is totally normal. Having more than one increases your chances of multiples but sometimes fertilizing just that one takes time. Good luck and stay positive cause it does only take one!
