estrogen levels post embryo transfer

hi everyone --- after reading through alot of these questions, i have become very concerned.
today i had my 7 day post transfer bloodwork.  the nurse called after receiving my bloodwork back and said that my estrogen was low and they put me a 2mg supplement in the a.m and the p.m.

she said that my estrogen was at 70 and that that was OK because after my last failed attempt, she said it was only at 32 at my 7 day post transfer.

so hear i am thinking 70 is much improved and a good number.  on here people are speaking of numbers in the 600 -800 range.

do you think that 70 is soooo low that i might as well assume i cant be pregnant????????  any feedback would be helpful.

I say only take a hpt if you can handle seeing a BFN.

I couldn't do it but I did cheat on the night before my beta.  Seven days is way too soon for a day 3 transfer but it would probably be okay for a 10 day one although it still could be too early.  Try to put it off for a couple more days so the test will be more accurate.

Thanks Jen -- i appreciate you getting back to me.  This is so stressful!!!

Unfortunately, i do not know what my numbers were prior. This is my 2nd transfer and i know that the estrogen level was low at the 1 week follow up last time as well.  it was 32 that time.  we also had to put my retrieval off 1 extra day (this time) because of my estrogen being low.

I asked my RE to put me on estrogen before the transfer (as it seems to be low often) and he said he couldn't do it until after the 1 week check.  he said the progesterone/estrogen ratios are so important that he can just assume their low....he says he has to wait and see.

it sounds like a crock to me...as MANY people on here are already on estrogen at the time of the transfer.  not only am i starting to lose faith in the results, i am also starting to lose faith in my RE.  he seems to do things alot differently then alot of other  doctors according to alot of the things i read on here.

my transfer was last sunday...so 7 days ago tomorrow......do you think it is too soon to take an hpt??????  i'm dying to do so!!!!!!!  i almost did it today but got too nervous.

Do you have any idea what your numbers were before transfer & at 3 dpt?  70 does seem low - I too had to go on Estrace vag. suppositories before transfer and then it was increased after transfer.  I wish I would've known what my exact number was- I know that I was first put on Estrace as well as the estrogen patches, my number was 100 & was considered low.

That's why I wondered what your numbers were like before so you'd have something to compare with.  There was a woman on this forum who had a dip in estrogen during 2ww & got her BFP so don't lose heart!  I too got pregnant even though I had that dip during the tww.  You could possibly call the clinic and get your previous numbers and talk to the nurse.

Try to stay positive - this dip doesn't necessarily mean that you won't get pregnant.  Good luck on your upcoming beta & SSBD, jen
