Asprin causes your platelets to lose the stickiness. Each Platelet has a 14 day life cycle and are replenished on a daily basis. What that means is 1/14th will die today and 1/14th will be created to day. There is not conclusive evidence that the does dramatically effects how many platelets "lose there stickiness". The good news, having a few more affected platelets should not effect your child. If you are noticing your are bleeding from a cut or bruising more than normal than you may want to skip tomorrow, but at most you should be concerned for a day or so. If you don't see any big changes then you are fine. Big changes: bruising in places you don't normally like your back. If you do get a bruise and it should have been small 1in diameter and it is now 5 in diameter and black and purple. That is what you should be concerned with.
I would not worry about it.
I'm pretty sure if you just took 1 extra one, you are fine. You could call your obgyn to double check, but I'm sure your ok. It just thins your blood, and just one won't make that much of a difference. But again, I would check with your obgyn also.
Hi,
low dose baby asprin is actually the much lower dose than usual. the 81 mg is much less than the regular 500 mg that people take for headaches or pain.
So I am sure there is no problem from taking twice the dose (160 mg) accidentally.
Just keep track so it really stays low dose.
Call your doctor and they can advise you on what to do. None of us can give you for sure advise on anything like that.
