I recently went in for an ultrasound to donate eggs. However, the news was not good. I have a low resting follicle count. About a total of 8. In addition i also have an cyst the size of a golf ball on my right ovary. They did not tell me much at the office, only that the ultrasound did not look good.  Not only am i thinking i can not donate, but i am also having the fear of not being able to have anymore children myself. Can anyone tell me what are my odds of having children. I really need to know.

Hi - Im new to this board.  TTC for 1 year+, "slight" failure on my chlomid challenge test 4 months ago.  Starting IVF this cycle, had baseline ultrasound today and found only 5 antral follicles.  Im devestated.  I too researched it on line and felt worse.  Im 36 years old.  My day 3 fsh was 9.6.  Am I doomed?

My FSH was taken 1 year ago by my primary care phys.  I took another one last Saturday along with E2.  No result yet.  My AF count is only 5.  We have been ttc for 1.5 years.  I was devasted when I heard that my AF is low.  I googled low AF, but it only stressed me out more.  I had planned to do the Gonal-F injection for my next cycle.  Too late for this cycle...didn't get my prelim test in by CD3.  Thank you for all your responses. I have some hope now that I know it's not completely hopeless for me.

Your FSh is great, did you get your E2 levels checks on CD3 also.  That can sometimes be an indicator.  What was your AF count?  I know many women that have had low counts that went on to have beautiful babies.

i  do agree with allip68.At the same time there are several factors in getting preg. when ur leading more than one year marital life and trials are taken to get preg then first u have to go for the post coital text.In which the male sperm is reaching ur womb or not clearly u may know. Generally the womens vagina which produces white liquid like mukas on orgasm that will contain high acidic value which is not allow the sperm lively to reach into the fallopean tupe. Then the FSH level which u said is some how low but there is some factors like nutrietious food and vitamins etc., which increases the fsh level .So dont worry.another  imp thing is u must take fsh test in another clinic which will help u to determine the correct level.Nowadays the diagnastic equips are varying the results some how. That will also help u to come to some conclusion.

What was your follicle count?  REs usually like to see 8 because statistically their odds are better with high follicle count.  But you could still have an excellent chance of getting pregnant, especially because you are pretty young.  I will caution you not to listen to everything the REs have to say, as they are in the business of trying to sell their fertility treatments which usually involves some degree of putting fear into their patients.  Depending on how long you have already been trying to get pregnant, you could still have a great chance of getting pregnant naturally.
