I am about to start my IVF meds.  Did they make you feel sick, moody etc? How much does the egg retrieval hurt on a scale of 1 - 10?

I am now having hot flashes like crazy. I agree with SDScientist and kele1129, the Lupron makes me all emotional and I feel like crying at the smallest thing. Being a therapist, as I am, it isn't cool when you are in a session and your patient is sharing how they feel, situations that triggered depression, anxiety etc. and you become as
emotional as they are....not a good thing.

The ER was not too bad the second time, but the 1st time I was really sore for a few days, that may have something to do with OHSS, not sure. I would have to score that second ER.....a 7! The second was a 5.

Hope this helps.....wishing you much success.

The Lupron did the same to me as far as being emotional...I cried more than I thought possible.  Having had 2 laproscopies in the past the egg retrieval was not that difficultfor me,  I just felt sore and stayed in bed for the day and half of the next.  Simply taking it easy is the best idea.  Before the egg retrieval though I did not feel well, I felt full and bruised on the inside.  I suggest some loose fitting bottoms when you start the stims.  I was wearing jammie bottoms for a week just to feel comfortable.  The progesterone mimics AF/pg symtoms, such as sore bb's, tiredness, sligh achiness...but nothing you can't live through ^_^  Good luck on your cycle!

Different IVF meds do different things to me.  The first time I took them I was terribly nauseous for the first few days.  That only happened on the first cycle.  The Lupron (if you are on it) makes me emotional and gives me severe migraines.  The progesterone gives me indigestion and makes me very sleepy.  The egg retrieval itself does not hurt-you are under a general.  Afterwards I am always a little sore for a couple of days (maybe a 4 or 5), but not too bad.  You will start feeling a "full" sensation when you get farther along with the stims.  This is just all your follicles growing.
Good luck.
