orgasm after embro transfer

Ok. So I have looked this topic up quit a bit. But I am still not sure on the answer I am looking for. I had an embryo transfer 3 days ago. I know the dr said not to have intercourse until after pregnancy test. But does that mean no orgasm? I am feeling quit frisky and really am in need of an orgasm. But I dont necessarily need sex. I am sure most of you girls know how I feel. So does anyone know if it would be ok to masturbate. All I need is outter stimulation. So nothing would be inserted in the vagina. I just didnt really wanna ask the dr about this. Can anyone help me? Quickly if possible, please! ;)

Our office does the same with the valium and I made a mistake since the steroid for 4 days after retrival had 1 pill left and the valium was in a 1 pill bottle and it was early I didnt look I just opened and took and went for transfer . when I got home I relized I took the steriod and not the valium by accident I hope that isnt a bad mistake. I called Re and the nurse-whomI think is a dingbatt told me it was fine just to flush it.

i was told specifically by my RE NOT to have an orgasm for the entire 2WW after transfer- your embroys are sensitive and b/c you did not concieve naturally, they are just sort of placed there- you dont want anything to shake them up... They actually give you valium at my clinic to avoid any kind of jarring in the uterus for the day of ET. Good luck!

Agreed.
The Orginal question was about egg transfer IVF..
How about this to all that combatively agree to disagree .
If you really cant decide on whom is correct and U can not wait the Dr recommended withstaining period then Ask You RE / DR. thats my best advice and I agree with MHV after all the time and shots and BW and $$$ why risk it.
My org post was not me it was cut and pasted right off the IVF dr website of embarassing questions.

I guess for me, the people who conceive naturally, didn't spend thousands and thousands of dollars and invest as much emotionally, as we have.  Again, if you get a negative, would you always wonder?  Would you hold it against yourself?  I think that is the bottom line.

Special teacher123, she was being as real as it gets.  It takes so much money and time to go through ivf.  I'd appreciate a friend like her.  You definitely need to overcome sensitivity like the rest of these sensitive people these days.   Too many people get offended over nothing.  This woman was not being judgemental at all.  She was being REAL.

From my readings, what is happening is at such a microscopic level that activity, sex, organism, etc. won't really affect it.  I would think a healthy embryo would implant regardless.

However, you've got to do whatever you feel good / comfortable with.

For IUI (which is what I did) they encourage you to have sex before / after (to increase fertilisation chance), if the fertilisation happens then that embryo is going to implant if it will.

If you did not go through ivf you would not abstain from sex or the big O.  I don't think there can be any scientific evidence that it can actually prevent implantation.  The mystery of implantation is not well understood.
Good luck!

I researched this alittle to give u the best answer.
During orgasm your uterus contracts and spasms, which may disturb your cervix and uterus linging which the egg is trying to implant and bury itself into.  So I would suggest to avoid it for now. have your DH give u a nice long body massage it may provide some sensual closeness that u crave.
Hope that helps

I was told nothing to jar, or spasm the uterus.  I wouldnt risk it, but, ultimately, the choice is yours. If you get a negative pregnancy test, will you always wonder??
