pregnancy after an HSG

I just had my HSG done last week (after 19 months of ttc). She said the tubes were clear. I was wondering if anyone here has had this done (I ovulate in the next 2 days so my fingers are crossed). I read somewhere that the chances of getting pregnant after an HSG increase significantly. Does anyone here know anything about this or even had this done and had a better success rate?

I have been reading these post over the last year that my hubby and I have been TTC-total of 14 months-after giving birth in Sept. 2009 to identical twins at 22 weeks due to pre-term labor. After our loss, we were devastated. These forums have helped me cope tremendously so I just had to share my recent blessing with all of you.
I started seeing a RE in March 2011 after 4 unsuccessful cycles of Clomid in varying dosages. My only medical history was suspected PCOS but I've never missed a period and they were pretty regular so I've always been leery of claiming the diagnosis of PCOS since I had no symptoms.
My last cycle was 4/2/11. I had a HSG done on 4/12/11. My tubes were clear and uterus normal. I ovulated on 4/18/11 (I use a Clearblue Fertility Monitor so I'm sure of ovulation date) and lastly, I received my BFP on 5/1/11!!!!!!!! Hubby and I are excited as can be. HCG Monday was 147 and by Friday, it had risen to almost 1300 so the physician told me not to be suprised if I am carrying multiples again. Whew! Ultrasound Thursday so hopefully we'll know for certain at that time.
Thank you everyone for your posts over the years as they provide comfort, understanding and wonderful insight for all women TTC.
Baby dust to all!

I had HSG test done on Feb 14th and fell pregnant on that cycle (about 10 days after the test) and am now 13 weeks pregnant! We were TTC for 18 mths! The test itself is not the most pleasant experience however I am sure neither is childbrith but we are all wanting that!!
I was told by the nurse on the morning of the HSG that sometimes the procedure alone can help to conceive and I felt like laughing at her! Little did I know she would be proven right 3 weeks later!

Hi all
I had an HSG on tuesady this week and it was a nasty experience. I was not given any pain killer and since one of my tubes had a blockage the Dr flushed it out with the dye and that hurt like hell. But after all that doc said my tubes were now clear. So im now hoping for the best.

Hi so I have been TTC for 2.5 years now. Had low progesterone and small cysts, recent ultrasounds have showed no cysts. I had clomid for 6 months with no success. It raised my hormone levels through the roof but still didn't get pregnant. I have recently went to a new gyno and have just had lots of new blood tests done and I have to have the HSG procedure done. So reading some comments it seems painful? I am quite worried but at the same time I want to know what is wrong with me. I have heard that if there is a blockage that sometimes the dye can unblock you? Anyway the gyno wants to do this procedure first before checking for endometriosis and has then suggested a laparoscopy if the results of the HSG are fine. Has anyone else recently had a HSG? Also has anyone fallen pregnant soon after?

Thanks :)
