i ovulated at least the last two months for sure! in the cycle (cycle #3 on metformin) in which i fell preggo my day 21 progesterone test showed that i hadnt ovulated (yet, obviously....) and that I was in the follicular stage. We had given up on that month but it hit me with a + hpt surprise and we are soooo grateful. My first month I didnt have a day21 prog test, but my 2nd month I did and I had definately O'd according to results with a good number. I strongly recommend Chiropractic as this is what I believe made me finally start to O as well as the Met.
The month we conceived we had 'a no stressing about it month' and didnt even have sex that much. We still went to Chiro and I took Met but I didnt chart my temps or do opk's etc. I was always a person who rolled my eyes when every person (all 20,000 of them lol) told me to 'just relax - itl happen blah blah blah...' and god it annoyed me when they said it. They must be right though lol cause we did and know Im preg. preseed is good too.
Best of luck and keep in touch! xx

thanks, i'm encouraged. did you ovulate during those three cylces or just the last one which got you prego? I was prescribed clomid and metformin last cycle, i also used preseed. i ovulated but didn't get pregnant. its now my second cycle on both meds and i ovulated about two days ago. i pray this is my month. Best of luck with your pregnancy.

yes that is definately possible and quite common unfortunately. It is called an Annovulatory Period. I am 25, have PCOS also and insulin resistance. I had alot, and i mean alot of annovulatory periods. My periods used to come completely irregularilily but in the last year they have been at least every calander month. Not always 100% regular but at least now I was able to tell if they were coming. I think this change was caused by weight loss.
After ttc for a while and being given my diagnosis we tried a few things ttc and we are now 8 weeks 1 day preggo with our first born. My last progesterone test on day 21 showed no sign of LH but i mustve ovulated as I am now preg! so just because at day 21 you havent O'd doesnt mean ya wont!
good luck  - we tried -
Preseed 3 month cycle
Metformin 3 month cycle
Chiropractic (both of us) weekly for 6/7 months
Numerous herbal treatments 18 months
Off contraception nearly 5 years
best of luck keep me posted
