remove uterus polyps - better day 5 to 10?

Hello ladies,
I had a sonohystergram and my dr. found 3 small polyps on my uterus. He recommend to remove them by hysteroscopy. I did some research...it seems like this procedure is better done day 5 to day 10 of the cycle. I was wondering why my Dr. told me it doesn't matter where i am in my cycle...i can just book any date...
Does anyone have similar experience? was you your hysteroscopy done between day 5 to day 10?
Do polyps come back?

I had the surgery on August 17th and it went well.  I ended up taking the day of surgery and the day after off from work.  I just had my post-opt yesterday and the dr. told me that I can start again in Oct.

thanks rghkah38! How did you surgery go? Did you take a couple of days off? How long do you need to wait to ttc?

I just had a polyp removed and it was done on day 1.  I actually got my af a week early.  I wanted to wish you luck on your surgery.

it is so frustrating i need to change my surgery date again...i have to do it at either cycle day 20 or day 1...i really dont feel good about this but the next available date is 2 months from now...i feel like i have put this off long enough i just want to get is over with...

Gigi, thanks for your advice i did call an assistant and she told me the timing doesn't matter...but this is an extremly unorganized office they have lost my chart once...i dont know whether i should believe her i feel like i dont have a choice

I wonder if they like to do it early in the cycle just because they can be certain that conception has NOT taken place.

My doc also seemed certain that the timing of the surgery did not matter.  But he also seems to make quick decisions which sometimes me feeling a little unsure if he is really doing what is in my best interest or if he is going for a "quick fix".

Rainsunshine, is there someone at the clinic, like an assistant, that you could call and talk to?  Thats what i normally do if I have additional concerns.  Keep us posted on what you decide to do and if the doc can provide you with any additional info on the timing of the procedure.

I also read that this should be done between CD5-10.  Not sure why though? Maybe it is because of the lining???

i was originally booked July 30th, which is CD12...but i have to cancel it because of my work schedule...now i can do it either Sept 9th or Oct 1st...i would prefer to do it sooner but Sept 9th is going to be CD 20 or something..and Oct 1st is around CD14...

I am afriad at CD 20...it might not be easy for Dr. to remove everything need to be removed becuase of the thick linning...i hope this is not an issue...My Dr. tends to make decicisions really fast...sometimes..i feel like he didn't think things through...maybe i worry too much:)))

I had a D&C hysterscopy to remove polyps, and I had it done on day 20 of my cycle, due to it being in December, I asked my dr. not make me wait until January to have a whole new deductible.  He agreed, only if I promised no TTC that month, he didn't want to take any chances, and I agreed.

Hi there.

I have not been diagnosed with polyps, but I am scheduled for a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on August 20th.  They have not found any abnormalities with my HSG and U/S so the doc just wants to go in and see "what is going on".  If anything needs "fixing" he will do it right then and there.

When making the appointment I was informed that the surgery could be done at any time of my cycle.  By the looks of things (and depending on how Clomid affects my cycle) I will probably be on CD 3 when I have the surgery/procedure.

I'm not thrilled about having the surgery while menstruating, however, on the bright side, I will not have to miss a month of ttc due to the lap and hyst.

I'm having mine done on a Thursday so I only need to take one additional day off work - then I can have the weekend to recuperate.  Not sure what the recuperation time is if you are having only a hysterscopy.  Do they have to put you under for that?

How soon can they fit you in?  Do you want it done right away?  I've been putting this off for a few months now, and finally decided that I would have to "bite the bullet" and get it done.
