testing too early?

I had a 5 day IVF transfer on Feb 10th and made the mistake of doing a home test on Saturday in the afternoon.  My scheduled pregnancy test is for this Wednesday.  My home test was negative and now we're losing hope.   Has anyone else made the same mistake?

My positive line did not show up until exactly one week after my transfer, and it was a faint line even then. Then it got a little darker the next day. Don't give up hope. Praying for a high Beta HCG for you!

You're right.  We got impatient, every day feels like a week.
2 more sleeps and crossing fingers.  thanks

Doing a home test in the afternoon five days before the doctor thinks even a blood test would be reliable is about as informative as doing nothing.  You're pregnant or you're not, it's not like a person is only pregnant if she believes it and isn't pregnant if she loses hope.  Go to your blood test on Wednesday, and see what it says.
