very confused about the artifical insemination process

I was impregnated through sexual intercourse, and without the use of fertility treatments, in January 2011. I then had a miscarriage in February 2011. Miscarriage was the result of a lack of prodestron & having a smooth lining of the uterus walls. Because of this the embryo was unable to implant itself. Since then I am no longer involved with my boyfriend. I began fertility treatments and had taken 150mgs of clomid for five days. I was artificially inseminated and the sperm was a live & actively swimming according to the nurse. I had two mature eggs & I was taking prometrium and estradiol twice a day. the medication began on the first day of the insemination. so I am so confused as to why, two weeks after the insemination, why I am not pregnant. I did everything right. can you offer an opinion as to why it may not have worked?

Thanks for responding. It helped a lot. The doctor wants to put me on fertility shots so hopefully it will be more successful.

Like the poster above, and IUI still doesn't increase your chances but so much.  I'm having my 1st one on Friday and I'm really nervous about it.  The sperm and egg don't always match up and sometimes they  can actually miss each other.  I hope that one day you are able to conceive your miracle.  Plus, if it's only been 2 weeks, you could end up with a BFP in a few days if you had a late implanter!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I too had a m/c in November after getting pregnant naturally. This past Sunday I had my first IUI so I completely understand everything you are going through.
The thing is, it's just like normal pregnancy...you only have about a 20% chance of achieving pregnancy every time. So while you might have done everything correctly, it's still a matter of chance. Pick yourself back up and try again. I'm sure that if you got pregnant on your own before, you will again.
Make sure your doctor is running tests and checking everything as you go through this process. Best of luck! :)
