IVF option

I went to see a new Dr yesterday since I was not very happy with my current RE. Till date i have done two cycles of clomid (100mg) and I ovulated on the first cycle ..waiting for ovulation for the second one.....its CD 18 now and the OPK is still negative
He had one look at my reports and said I had unexplained Infertility and I should stop taking Clomid, skip the IUI entirely and go for IVF directly.

I felt it was a bit drastic but am so confused now on what to do?

Hi!
I can't guess what your new MD was thinking. If you did indeed ovulate with clomid, the only reason that I can see to go directly to IVF would be if your tubes were blocked.
Unless that is the case, or unless there are some other factors that I am unaware of, I don't see why you couldn't try some other options first.
Usually the progression is to try Clomid, then Clomid + IUI, and then IVF.
Be sure to ask your doctor WHY he/she suggests something!
Good luck!
