endo thickness is low!!!

Does anyone know what is the minimum endo thickness (uterus) required for getting pregnant? Last month my endo thickness was 6.7 mm on day 12th and was 8 mm before getting my period (my cycle is 30 days)/ The doctor told me that its weak. I took second opinion and the other doctor said its ok.
My husband has low count and we are thinking of IUI, does anyone know or have similar experience? Should I do it, or should I ask the doctor to give me some treatment to raise the endo thickness? Is it possible that I get pregnant? and if I get pregnant what is the percentage for facing miscarriage?

Please help and so worried.

Thanks,
Nino

Wish you good luck :).
I went today to the dr. to do the ultrasound (CD12), the dr. detected 3 mature eggs (one 18mm, and 2 16mm). She said they will grow a little more 1 to 2 per day (uausally I OV in day 16, because my cycle is 30day). So they may reach 22 and 20.
She also, said that I can take an injection (HCG hormone) that releases the eggs after 36 hours, and if  we want, my husband and I can do IUI on Thursday. My husband can’t leave work on Thursday morning, and we can’t do anything on Thursday morning; therefore, I did NOT take the injection.

I will go Thursday morning to do another ultrasound, to see if the egg ais ready to release. if yes, we will try naturally.
I hope I get pregnant soon. I am really tired and already fed up with going to the doctor.

I have no idea. When I asked the nurse she said that was really common for the count to be so different from each sample. I'm thinking maybe the amount of days between sex let's the count build up so maybe the second time they did the analysis we didn't wait as long in between but that's just a guess!

No, it was my second iui, the first one didn't work. This round they upped my dose though so it produced more follicles. The first time I only had 1, this time there were 2, possibly 3 that were mature that could have been released. I was able to grow the eggs to get them mature but they were not releasing on thier own. I had the ovidrel trigger shot to get the follie to release. My husband has 50% motility, but the size/shape normal count is really low! 23 million is still pretty high though. One time my husband had 65 million and the second was 25 million. This last iui there were 9.2 after the wash, which is 2 mill more than last time do I'm hoping for the best :)

Good luck to you PrincessJam :) Wish you be pregnant soon.
Id it your first IUI? was your problem OV?

As I mentioned I have no OV problems but the doc put me on clmid to increas the chances of getting pregnent since my husband has low active motility 20% and 23/m count.

Nino - I started taking it on day 12 of my cycle when I went in for the follicle check waiting to see how they were growing and they could see my lining was a little thin and wanted to thicken it before doing the iui. So, I started before ovulation and I have to keep taking it until pregnancy is confirmed. The pill is really tiny but it's bright blue so I put it in at night and there is some strange discharge that is blue but it's not too bad and I know it's helping. I went in 2 days later, so day 14 and it had already thickened so I could do the iui.

Thank you PrincessJam,
I Ovulate just fine.. the doc gave me Clomid to increase teh chances since my husband has only 20% active motility + 23 m/

I will ask my doc about the Estrace (an estrogen), When do you take it? after OV? or before?

For how long have you taken it?

Thank you very much.

Nino - My lining was a little thin as well on 100 mg of Clomid, but it wasn't on 50 mg.  It measured at 5.7 mm on day 12 with the 100 mg, and then I was given Estrace (an estrogen) which is inserted vaginally to get it closer to the source.  Two days after taking the estrogen, my lining was already up to almost 8 mm.  The doctor said they want to see at least 8mm for implantation.  Sounds like there is mixed opinions, but that is what my doctor told me.
I will continue the estrace to keep building up my lining for 2 weeks when I have my blood test done for pregnancy.
I as well, have endometriosis.  This is my 2nd IUI - Sounds like you are ovulating on your own, and 18 mm is a good follicle size. The more follicles you grow, the better chances you have to get pregnant.

I know that doc gives Glucophage , to cure cysts. probably he gave you Glucophage to protect you from getting cysts.

I wonder what will happen if the clomid dose chance during one cycle? e.g. CD 2, 3and  4 clomid 100 mg) and CD 5 and 6 (clomid 50 mg)? With no ovulation problems. The doctor prescript for IUI

Clomid can thin the lining of uterus after so many clomid cycles.  My doctor had prescibed Glucophage alone with Clomid. It thicken the uterus lining while taking Clomid.

One more question, please. You said to support my "cycles with estrogen".. When should I take it? after IUI or before?
Is it better to fix my endo or do this month the IUI?

Hello again,
Thank you very much. my concern was not to be able to conceive because of weak/thin endo or face miscarriage even with IUI. What are the chances to conceive/miscarriage in my case?

What about Clomid? Should I go for it as my doctor suggestion to increase the number of eggs in order to increase the possibility to conceive?
Does clomid affect the endo thickness?

I checked my OV in different months (day 12th, day 10th, day 8th) all show that I Ovulate just fine size was 18 in day 12.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
Usually and endometrial thickness of about 14 mm is ideal.
If you were my patient, I would encourage you to do IUI.  It is fairly simple, relatively painless, and not too expensive.
It would not be too difficult to supplement your cycles with estrogen if there is continued concern about the thickness of the lining.
I would want to be certain that you were ovulating too, so would ultrasound for follicles and check progesterone levels by blood testing as well.
Most MDs would probably recommend using supplemental progesterone after conception for 10-14 weeks to reduce the risk of miscarriage.
I hope this helps!
