hi was just wondering if you could shed some light on my ultrasound findings.
I have had blood work done after not conceiving  for the past 14 months after mirena coil removal. they showed high levels of testosterone which my doctor said is PCOS. In the repost on the ultrasound it said there are undermatured follicles in the ovaries but not in a classic polycystic way ??? im not sure what that means and neither did my doctor as he said the report was worded badly.. Does it mean there are cysts there???

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a bad name for any condition that includes infertility and irregular periods.  There is a classic ultrasound finding that is consistent with polycystic ovaries, but PCOS is definitely NOT ruled out, or even in by this finding.  An isolated elevated testosterone level  also does not rule in or out PCOS.  If you are having irregular periods, in addition to infertility, you probably DO have PCOS.  The important thing to consider is what medications will help you ovulate regularly so that you can conceive.  A combination of Clomid and Metformin was shown to produce the best results in a recent study.

I have also been diagnosed with PCOS and my midwife put me on Provera (tablets). I'm supposed to take a pregnancy test and if it's negative take Provera for five days to start my period. But if I'm trying to get pregnant and have irregular periods, how do I know when to test without it being too early? Will Provera harm an existing pregnancy?
