Bleeding after Oct Miscarriage and Septum

I had a miscarriage on Oct 24 with heavy bleeding. It was 8 week pregnancy, 6 week old fetus. I passed the baby on Nov 10. I had my first period on Dec 26. I have been bleeding on and off since then, then I had another period on Jan 24. It was 7 days. I figured it was a period because it lasted 7 days in a row and follow the normal pattern, though still not much clotting. I have then had bright red bleeding and brown on and off since then. The bright red is very spontaneous that I would not even notice it and usually happens after a day or so of no coloured discharge. It goes between brown and bright red now every few days sometimes even a week between out breaks of bleeding. It will be bright red for one day then brown for another day or so then go away. The latest one started on the 11th and now been constant brownish dark red since. I am keeping track on my calendar. Is this normal now? Should I be bleeding this much?

This is my second miscarriage and it took my a year to get pregnant again. The first time the baby would not pass and had a D&C, but had normal periods and no spotting after it. This time the baby passed on its own.

Also with this miscarriage they said they saw a septum and I finally got an appointment to see a specialist in April (had a referral go in before X-Mas). I was wondering what to expect during that appointment.

Thank you in advanced.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would want to do an ultrasound to be certain that there was no retained tissue from the miscarriage. (I think that this is pretty unlikely).  I would also want to do some simple hormone tests to try to determine whether you are ovulating or not and if not, if there is a reason why not.  As far as the septum goes, I suspect that the specialist will likely discuss removing it.  This is usually done via hysteroscopy and does not involve major surgery.  He/she may also want to do some more imaging prior to the surgery -- possibly a saline ultrasound, hsg or 3D ultrasound.
Hope this helps!

I cannot edit, but forgot to mention that last night I had sever cramps. It felt like the cramps I used to have before I went on the pill during my period.

Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering if I could be on my period again? My past two were Dec 26-Jan 4 then Jan 24-31 and now I have been bleeding since Feb 11 and has been consistent since then. Today it got a bit lighter again.
