Clomid and ovarian cysts

I do not ovulate.  I took Clomid 50 mg/day Days 3-7 during one cycle.  I ovulated and got pregnant but then miscarried.  My progesterone level was low (8) with that cycle, so the Clomid disage was increased to 100mg during the next cycle.  I developed a cyst and did not ovulate with the 100mg cycle.  My health care provider wants to increase me to Clomid 150mg, but I am afraid that I will just keep developing cysts.  Does it make more sens to go back down to 50mg again, since I definitely ovulated (although the egg quality was poor)?  Have you found that people who develop cysts at one dosage continue to develop cysts on Clomid at that dosage or higher?  I am scheduling an appointement with an RE, so this may be my last cycle on Clomid.  Thanks.

my husband and I have been trying to conceive since january, my obgyn started me on clomid 50mg back in may, my blood work showed a slightly higher number for my ovulation and put me back on clomid @ 100mg ,after blood work  my ovulation number had gone down, so he put me back on clomid for 150mg , blood work showed my ovulation had gone up to 17. something. but still not pregnant , he has now put me on clomid 150 mg and started me on glucophage, I am little scared to take the glucophage, although i read it increases fertility,  should i take both, and if so what is the posibility of getting pregnant. and if not what is the next step???????

I have the same problem. I ovulated on 50mg Clomid, but not pregnant. I was on 100mg Clomid CD5-9, and now it is CD45 and still don't have any sign of ovulation nor pregnant. So what should i do? go back to 50mg?

Hi there-

I would increase the dose as suggested. You need an adequate dose to ovulate. Cyst formation on clomid is common, and not necessarily dose dependant. Talk things over with your REI. The goal is to get you to ovulate. good luck!
