Could I be pregnant after 2 1/2 years of trying?

I am 29 and have PCOS.  I am overweight but have recently lost 30 lbs.  My husband and I are planning to do IVF in June.  We have been on clomid for 5 cycles and did 3 IUIs.  The only issue is that I don't ovulate regularly.  Last month I got my period on my own.  Then I began doing accupuncture.  On CD 26 there were three times that I went to the washroom between 6 and 9 pm.  Each time there was some pink and brown discharge.  Not a lot.  I thought that my period may be coming.  Now it is CD 30 and still no period.  Normally I track everything.  However, since we are planning just to do IVF in June I have not done any tracking for the past couple of months.  When I think back, I know that I did have some EWCM and some cramping around the time I could have ovulated (I have never gotten my period twice in a row on my own).  I had cramping on CD 25, 26 and 27.  Last week I got a lot of headaches that developed in the afternoon.  I have been tired.  I have an appointment with my OBGYN on Friday.  I have not taken a hpt because I am not sure if it would be too early for it.  I have also been taking metformin.  I stopped taking it on CD 26 as soon as I thought that the spotting could be implantation bleeding..becuase doc told me to take it until I got pregnant.  Do you think I could be pregnant?  And, should I have stopped taking the metformin? I am hoping for a BFP...it has been a long road.  Any comments are appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi!
It certainly won't hurt to do a confirmatory test at your doctor;s office.  But, I think its probably a no.  Sorry.  Often when people bite the bullet and sign up for the IVF, they relax and Boom.  But never fear--IVF if properly done can work wonders for PCOS!
Usually a preg test should be positive by CD28 although there are always exceptions.

I would suggest resuming Metformin, there are some data showing reduced miscarriage risk in women on Metformin, so we usually continue it through 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Good luck!
