Endometriosis, Miscarriage & Pregnancy

Hi-

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant for the 3rd time.  The first 2 ended in missed m/cs.  On Tuesday, I went for an emergency lap because my Dr. thought I was having a tubal pregnancy due to the pain on my side and my slow rising HCG levels (1540-3276 in 1 week).  Go to find out, I wasn't having a tubal preg but she did see endometriosis which she believes was causing my pain and responsible for my past 2 m/cs.  (She said she is keeping her fingers crossed for this preg but the numbers don't look good!)  

My question is; Does endo in fact cause m/cs and what are my chances of ever having a baby?  Would the Lap surgery increase my chances or would Lupron treatment be better?  (She told my husband my endo isn't "that bad.")

I have endometriosis too and had a laparoscopy when I was 21.  I had my first baby boy at 23 and the second at 24.  I was told that you are more fertile after having the surgery and aparently it worked!  Don't give up hope, but know that your symptoms aren't neccessarily like what they see.  You could have very bad symptoms and not a lot of endometriosis or a lot and no symptoms.  i hope that helps.  Feel free to ask any more questions!

First, with a beta HCG of >1500 one would expect to see a gestational sac in the uterus, not baby but pregnancy tissue, gestational sac using a transvaginal sonogram. So if this was not seen then suspicion for an ectopic. If laporoscopy turned up nothing then the tuff answer, ride it out, suspect miscarriage. But you never know seen worst.

Endometriosis: once the diagnosis has been made, we move to treatment because endometriosis has been shown to affect fertility, this is not the problem, you have gotten pregnant. The data on endometriosis and recurrent miscarriages is very questionable , the answer is still out.

Endometriosis treatment: Surgical or medical , toss up. If it's not bad who wants surgery, go with the lupron.

But recurrent miscarriage is another diagnosis and another workup.
