I would check out the clinical trials with DHEA. Supplemental with over the counter DHEA has been shown to raise amh, lower fsh, improve egg quality etc in several studies. However, I would definitley get baseline DHEA and DHEA-S test done before supplementing. If you go to clinicaltrials.gov you can see the exact protocols used for supplementation. I got pregnant easily at 41 (first try) without any treatment except acupuncture (no herbs.) I've a healthy child now. If you don't want to give up with your own eggs, I'd research the DHEA further and take exceptional care of yourself. You could talk with a RE about it, I suspect you if you ultimately tried donor eggs, it'd be successful for you at 46, 47, or 48.
Also, I subscribe to consumerlab. They do 3rd party testing of supplements. There was one DHEA supplement that had twice the labeled amount (it was a 10mg supplement). Others were fine.
Good luck!
Hi!
Kisspeptin is being studied in Europe. It has some utility in treating hypothalamic amenorrhea. I honestly don't think that it would work well in your case. With an FSH
of 35 the really correct answer is donor eggs. Your periods are irregular because your ovaries have run out of follicles, and stimulating your ovaries will probably not do much.
Why not consider an egg donor? If you are in excellent health, you could have a baby within 10 months--why wait? Don't let a little DNA stand between you and motherhood!
Good luck!
