my dr has me taking 1000mcg daily. and i am suppose to go and get my levels checked in a couple of weeks, if it hasnt gone up, i may need to get injections.
My daughter was diagnosed with PCOS and is on Metformin and a low dose estrogen birth control pill. Does it make a difference what type of birth control pill. She was on yasmin but got headaches. Also I am so confused, the Dr also said we cannot test hormonal levels only if she is off birth control pills for a few months. How do we make sure her hormonal levels are normal. I also asked for a fu transvaginal ultrasound to make sure the cysts are not getting worse and again he said you don't fu on this either. I has been 2 years since the last ultrsound. Thank you so much for your consideration in this matter. Nean
Hi!
There are some authors who believe that low b12 levels can reduce fertility. They don't go on to postulate a mechanism however. A low level can definitely cause anemia. Whatever that case, taking supplements can't hurt! Being in good health in general is definitely important for fertility and pregnancy!
Good luck!

B12 is in meat in the highest amounts. That's why vegetarian's often are low. You can also get b12 you put under the tounge. How low is low? B12 affects the nerves so low b12 will cause nerve symptoms (ie numbness and tingling in the fingers)
B12 is the most important vitamin for fertility..so yes it will affect your chances of getting pregnant.....but it is also easly fixed...once ur levels are normal,u should ok unless u have other issues....
how much are they going to give u per month?
also make sure u eat lots of food rich in B12....u can search on the net...ex:
spinach
romano lettuce
orange juice
good luck
