Hello, I have Ulcerative Colitis and just found out I have low progesterone. I am trying to get pregnant and I wanted to know what I should do next?

Hi, I have low progesterone too - did they do a test to confirm?  My OB said that they correct the problem with Clomid (barring that anything else is causing the low prog) - I started taking last cycle and will be taking again in a few days.  Tried for 3 years to have my 2 year old son and now into 18 months with trying for number two.  It's enough to make a person nuts.  And I;m not sure how your colitis affects your prog?  Let me know if I can help you in any way.

HI!
Low progesterone levels are caused by failure to ovulate.  If one is not ovulating regularly, it is difficult to get pregnant.  Clomid or Femara (my personal favorite) are good drugs to start with to stimulate the ovaries to ovulate.  Your regular OB/gyn doctor could prescribe this for you, and help you figure out your cycle calendar and fertile times.
Good luck!
